To me that tells a story of a bloke who'd just played through two seasons and looked one of the better KPP in the AFL, did his knee and came back frustrated with his output.

Sorry Jim but that's incorrect IMO. JW has played well at times as a KPP but he has little consistency as one.
As a CHB, he was taken apart too often and made poor decisions with the ball. As a CHF, he hasn't shown the capacity to play the role well with any consistency. His best season was as a floating back man. Unfortunately that role has become redundant for players with average foot skills.
He's been at the club for about 12 years now yet players with half the AFL exposure are far more consistent and disciplined.

Actually struggled against the monsters such as Jono Brown but was very good against the likes of Riewoldt and Richo. Reckon he'd play his best footy in the midfield but hasn't really had the chance. Certainly been good playing forward and definitely one of the most important players on our list given the roles he can play. Very few more important (Judd, Murphy) on our list. Given we simply lack key forwards he becomes very important. Can't be losing those blokes.

It's that mentality which was one of the main precursors to our spoon years.

My mentality is to keep the blue bloods at home for ever. By keeping the blues at our football club the young players will meet, learn and follow the rich history of our once reveared football club.
By the way our precursor to our spoon years was to trade veteran players from other clubs instead of blooding and teaching kids. (just my opinion)

Again - well said. Keep this up and will get on fine.

A poster on BF (an Essendon* supporter who knows the family) says that the club has offered Waite his 3 year deal and now are just finishing up final details.

Our first pick....
Lack of attention to detail.

Jarrads not going anywhere. A good preseason and a resolution to his injury probelms will see him become the most dominate CHF in the game next season.

We say this every year, and every year it doesn't eventuate.

That would be nice. We'll review this post in 12 months then?

Most dominant CHF in the game
Ever heard of Cloke? Brown? Buddy? Kennedy? Riewoldt?
Let's be realistic here, there's a difference between optimism and blind foolishness.

I just hope he can get on the park and contribute in a consistent manner.

dominates his position for ten minutes before threatening to have himself rubbed out and add to his enormous tally of free kicks against.

should have been trade bait to bring a kid like caddy to the club.

instead we throw good money at him.
underperforming and almost thirty

Synbad flip flopping is a surprise? Looks like he is on a 'get caddy' push now. We should package him up with ALbert Proud.

funny
fev has produced more than waite.
fev will still go down as a great of the club.
with all his flaws he dominated his position in our worst ever era.

waite was unable to show more than glimpses.

There seems to be a trend developing in the AFL. Going for the spectacular marks sooner or later leads to serious injuries on landing. That's not going back with the flight of the ball.

Stick to talking about yourself BM, at least you know your subject matter there.

There's only one Kennedy when we're talking CHF's and he is already twice the value of Waite. Cloke is deservedly AA and Riewoldt had a poor year like Waite. Prior to that, he was twice the player Waite has ever been. I'm happy for us to talk up our players but lets try to add a semblance of reality.
And yeah, Buddy is "not bad"

fev is a leading figure in personal achievement but I don't agree he's a club great

Waitey has never realised his talent in a consistent way - not sure he has as much trade currency now that some think he has

So now we are changing our dance tune a bit? On current form Waite is ahead of Brown and Riewoldt( have never rated Roo, soft as a Diary Queen). Kennedy is good but has never taken a game apart. I am yet to see Cloke do the same in a big game. So apart from Buddy, it is as I said, given a good preseason next year I reckon Waite can dominate next year
