Well now that the dust has settled a little bit, we can reflect on what has been on the whole a great season. We grew as a team, broke some hoodoos, toughened up and took one step closer to #17. Which game was the highlight, and why?

(I know most will vote for last week, but some insight into other highlights would be good too)

Sydney at the SCG. Got the monkey off our back

Plus I was luckily enough to be there after years off suffering in the harbour city

They are yummy, that's for sure. Their tears are like a drug.

Sydney was great..against a worthy opposition..but after the sickening nerves pre EF...the win was glorious.

Has to be the SCG game. That was a crucial step in our development I reckon. Wins like that certainly help our self-belief and confidence.

EF win was great as well, of course.

Looks like its down to 2, but I think the Sydney game at Etihad sticks out for me when I thought we were starting to play some seriously good football especially in that 2nd and 3rd quarter.

Also showed the difference in the side when Kreuzer is flying.

Hard to go past our first finals win in a decade.

Sure, in relative terms it was a pretty regulation win against a mediocre side, but finals are what it's all about.

It's true that the Swans game was absolutely vital. Not just for the hoodoo factor, but because it seems that half-time break seemed to be the tipping point for our development. In the first half we were playing some pretty lazy, unaccountable and undisciplined footy, and many (myself included) wondered whether the team had truly learned anything. Then in the second half it was like a different team, full of grit, teamwork and skill.

The Swans game was the moment we waved goodbye to the "old" Carlton and hello to the new.

Probably started in those last 5 minutes against Adelaide. We were gone for all money that game. Looked no chance of scoring 1 goal, let alone 2.

I picked the elim final for obvious reasons.

My favourites during the season were

Adelaide - we nearly choked, but willed ourselves over.
St Kilda - see above.
Sydney - dug ourselves out of a massive hole (hoodoo team, hoodoo location, weather conditions, down in first half).
Essendon* - magic second half and seeing Walker's mark live at the ground is one of my favourite footy moments ever.
Norf - another hoodoo team that we ground out a win against.

I reckon last year we would have lost the Adelaide, St Kilda, Sydney and Norf games.

The CFC Facebook page has some nice sketches to show our season in review. All very nicely done and captures the feeling of each match really well. I quite liked these in particular...

The one of Yarran vs Brisbane is my favourite.

I hope the club get in touch with the artist about getting them printed up - I would buy them.

Second Richmond game.

Hendo's first full game at FB.

Jeffy took a screamer, Judd booted one from 70, thumped them 100+, was a beautiful day, work gave me free seats

I love the Walker sketch.

Anyway, I think our best games were against Sydney and the Saints.

But the game that left me feeling the most warm and fuzzy (dare i say smug) was the EF.

Even though Wallis, Lloyd, Thompson, Hird, Denham and Wanganeen etc don't play for them anymore, it's like they still were.

I particularly enjoy Lloyd having to scoop up big spoonfuls of sh1t and swallow them whole. He tries to pretend it's all a bit of fun and it doesn't hurt, but inside he's feeling sick.

The Sydney game was great because it gave us something to watch other than the Royal Wedding.

the first Sydney game set the tone so got my vote.

The EF vs the Bummers was the most fun I've had at the footy for a long long time.
