T-Bird was epic. He really stepped up and gave us something in that second quarter when the game was there to be won. I thought Setanta struggled a bit but Eddie and Jeffy seem to love him in the side because there are so many crumbs to feed off.

I thought Laidler was the unsung hero. While he will have a nervous wait from the MRP his physicality really gave us an edge down back and he took several telling marks throughout.

My only disappointment was our kicking for goal again. I was really nervous when we had 5 behinds on the board before thay had even got a sniff, and then had 3 goals and were getting on top. But given we had 20-odd more scoring shots than them, it should have been 100+

But I guess the media were right. Having Jobe Watson out there made a huge difference for the Bombers - down from a 74 point pantsing to a 62 point one!!!

How good was that! Well done Ratts, I'm rapt for you! A great Carlton man.
Special mention to Warnock & T-Bird ... great games. Great stuff fellas, keep it going.
Robinson .... embarrased the ol'man. :smoking:
Murphy BOG again. He is going to go close to the brownlow this year.
Singing the theme song in the 3rd quarter was just priceless.

I missed it. Tired and in a hurry I set the alarm for the wrong time and slept through the whole thing. Aaah well. Next week.

I am pretty sure that what caused me to finally lose my voice was screaming out "HEY REIMERS CHECK OUT THE SCOREBOARD!" when he kicked that junk time goal in the last.

no voice, I'm stuff and the biggest smile on my face after a final. Been waiting 10 years for this.

Great game by all the boys, after 5 straight points I was starting to think "oh no, it can't happen"

Lucky for the umps today otherwise Essendon* might have only kicked 4 goals.

Just got back...

A great team effort today... only negative would be our goal kicking accuracy.

btw... will ch.7 replay this game during the week?

Atmosphere fantastic at the game. Reached a peak about ten minutes into the last, where a few separate sections took up the song at once. Rang around the entire ground, was beautiful thing to hear.

Thornton was immense today, as was Warnock.

Murph was awesome, and I hope Laidler escapes serious penalty because he is in fantastic form, close to impossible to beat one on one when he has body contact.

Can't think of many who were below par. Terrific team performance.

Hope Gibbs is ok.

Well done to the team and well done Ratts. Now he can just get on with the job - not that it seems he's let it affect him in the slightest, which is to his credit. A lot of critics have been silenced today.

Shame I'm not I town tomorrow morning to hear lloyds excuseson SEN tomorrow :smoking: :smoking:

I reckon our difficult goals evened out the misses (Eduardo's bouncing goal, Walker's sublime kick, Juddy off one step, Jeffy G's ripper etc).

I read that Laidler may be in trouble with the MRP. Anyone who saw the incident.....does he have something to worry about?

Elbow to the side of Hille's head after he had kicked the ball, hill a bit shaky getting up but played on ok. I am not an expert but I remember thinking at the time that looked ugly.

Yup.......not sure how many points Laidler has, but it was reckless at best. Bring in JR.

Hope you're right. But my first impression was not good, and it was quite late. Laidler has been a great acquisition - thank God for the riches of the Cats defence :donk:

I was full of praise for the Bombers, we were really lucky to win. To lose Pears so early in the game ruined their structure and their sheer will to fight back the way the did in the last was nothing sure of inspirational. Tomorrow morning I'll be putting my house on them to be brave again.......next year :smoking:
