This would be my team...

FB: Laidler Jamo Joseph
HB: Duigan Henderson Yarran
C: Scotland Judd Simpson
HF: Gibbs Thornton Walker
FF: Betts O'hAilpin Garlett
Foll: Warnock Murphy Carrazzo
I/C: Armfield Robinson Lucas and Bower (sub)

Miss Out: Tuohy Davies Ellard

Swinging Hendo fwd or even Jamo and Laidler at different stages along with the resting ruck and T-Bird who has been a decent target up fwd for us, height is not a massive problem. Yes, their ruck stocks outweigh ours, but people forget how damn big warnock is! The hitouts will be even for the game overall, so that's not a problem... Our mids have been working the whole year without a consistant focal point up fwd, why must things just change now?
Our side oozes class, run and toughness. Unless something damn weird happens, we should run over this mob like we did in Rnd 18.

If Hendo hasnt been swung forward in the past 8 weeks he aint about to be swung forward now. He'll stay in defence.

I like Jamo up forward if need be. Main risk is if Essendon* gan numbers back and run forward - we'll need Jamo in defence mode and the flankers to defend in here. We should be in a good position here.

Warnock has a huge challenge against the Bombers big men.

They are a very slow side. Not sure they can pull off the flood and counter tactics that cause us trouble. Throw in some windy and damp weather and its probably impossible.

Will take a massive choke by us to stuff this up.

All year our guys have wanted this (i.e. MCG final in front of Carlton fans)......nearly every player interview throughout the year when finals are mentioned, have spoken of a home final in front of their home fans - Sunday they get that chance & if they aren't pumped like they've never been against a team who won 4 less games, endured 5 consecutive losses & 2 consecutive 74 point maulings throughout the year......make a stand Blueboys, make a stand.

Well .... at least it was about Carlton - and that's the only bit on those shows that interests me at all.

Mind you, I thought it was bit rich for Malthouse to be commenting on Rattens "troubled" state of mind going into the finals.

I hope Judd is resting up so he can piggy back Hocking around the MCG on Sunday.

Guess the weather has played a part in the selection of Davies and Ellard who add muscle and grunt.

Lucas and Tuohy unlucky.

Agree with that, both are really stiff but we do have some good ins so one or two players were going to be unlucky to miss out.

I obviously wish the kid well, but I am stunned that Davies is in that side ahead of Bower, Tuohy, Lucas or Russell. I simply do not see what the MC seems to be seeing. He is a very limited footballer – and his left foot kicking is not even VFL level.
