We could cut out about half the daily posts if we stopped posting outrage at journos, other fans, other club officials and commentators opinions about us

Prior to this year Pendlebury would have been number 1. Thomas and Murphy have skipped past him this season and for all we know in 5 years time we be talking about Kennedy as being the standout.

There is so much garbage written in the papers about who is better than who and where players should be rated etc. Its garbage to fill the column space.

What is a better consideration is what teams are/should be happy/unhappy with their picks. Fair to say that both Collingwood and Carlton selected well at the top end of that draft. Very little focus is put on the Hawks and the once omniscient Pelchen who took Ellis (injury prone, but no star) and Dowler (delisted).

People forget that Collingwood also took Stanley, Cook (both delisted) and Anthony (gone). We got Bower and Edwards (unfortunate bust).

Far too much is put into comparisons. If you choose a good player in the first round and get 150+ games out of him, its a win...

Well, we've already been told that he can but we shouldn't have any response for it. We should ban opinions on opinion pieces

I love reading the tackle every Monday like the format and agree with most of what is written.
Robbo has had lots of good this to say about Carlton all year. He jumped on the bandwagon a lot earlier then may journos.

Can't remember what show it was but they were dissecting the 2005 and they picked Kennedy as number one, midfielders are a dime a dozen they said. This was also the week Josh bagged 10.

Unfortunately for Murph, ( and I don't agree with this ) the perception will be that Pendelbury and Thomas are better because they played well in a winning Grand Final. Murphy will hopefully do the same this year or next.

I think what it comes down to is whether we would swap Murphy for Thomas, the answer is no.

I'd have to watch Pendlebury more to decide on him or not.

Ask collingwood supporters their views and they wouldn't swap either (but they'll change that view over the next few seasons)

How can you take seriously his views when he cant even get the year that he was drafted in right?

I really hope you're talking about that Collingwood fan's mother, and not any poster's wife. We all know how well that went last time....

Interestingly, and somewhat predictably, Dermie never used to think Kennedy would amount to much. He went on record about having been 'shown Kennedy's tapes' by the recruiting department at Hawthorn, and recommended that they look elsewhere (if given the opportunity to take him). I wonder what he'd have to say now? (Presumably he'd have sufficient reason to tell everyone else why they're wrong about Kennedy. :banghead: )

Note to all posters.

Premierships is why people play football.

If you win them you are a legend. If you don't you can only ever be an average footballer.

Whitnall will never be more than that.
