I honestly didn't think Carlton could go all the way in 2011, so I and my wife booked a trip to NYC and Canada later this year, meaning I will be in NYC on GF day.

Should we make the GF, I will watch it (hopefully) at some Aussie bar in Manhattan - are there any??

To be truthful, it is probably better I miss the game (if we make it), as I reckon the emotions and stress of the week would get the better of me, should I be in Melbourne.

Good decision. You'll have a ball if we win or not.

That's Victorian language Rhino. Up here in the good ol' NT it would be ......
"me an' tha missus"

What about your wife and you?

Don't tell me you too don't believe Carlton could win the Flag this year?

I bet we win, and I bet Sugarcane will be nervous as hell over there when we make the GF.

Gotta go when you gotta go. Bad timing imo. But then again I keep being told I wear Rose Coloured Glasses.

I've cancelled all travel plans during the finals series, other than a midweek ski here and there in NZ, because I will be needed in Melbourne...or is it "I and my wife" will need to be in Melbourne to watch us win every final and we get to touch the Premiership Cup at Visy Park amongst all the Carlton lunatics who are going to go off like a frog in a sock.

I just can't see my wife needing to be at any footy match, but she need to if someone is going to mind the kids after we win the flag.

Airline tickets can be changed - GF appearances can not.

Wedding anniversary, and ties in with school hols, so it's not like I wanted to go away on GF week, regardless of whether CFc are in the GF or not, I don't like missing GFs.

Enjoy the holiday. These things work out one way or the other.
You'll have a great time in Manhattan. Hopefully we'll all have a great time in Melbourne.

I remember watching the 2009 GF in my hotel room in San Fran on ESPN Classic. Ask your hotel if they have that channel as a backup.

Oddly enough won't be first time
Saw 1999 GF from London. Was living there at the time
Got plastered with 2 London mates then passed out around midnight, got woken later around 4am and watched us go down with a shocking hangover
As for 2011, I thought we'd improve but maybe not this much
In saying that, it is only half way though year and a loss to Syndey could bring us back to the pack a bit

Have to admit, I put off my only chance of a UK trip this year as it potentially coincided with the Grand Final. Got laughed at earlier this year.

Feeling it.
