He said that he heard the boos from the crowd on Friday night and thought just as many Carlton supporters would be booing him as Melbourne supporters. He also said that he knows his has lost whatever pace he had and this was predominately as a result of being in a moon boot for 5 months. He spoke about the bruise free game without offending the opposition and finally said he would be working his butt off to improve his game.

I'm in the same boat as Centanaryblue since I heard that interview which was replayed on OTC on Monday night. Really moving stuff.
I really hope Brock makes it. He was pragmatic and honest about his current situation.
He also described himself as a"slow" player and has to really do well in the contested ball area to give the team real value.
And he's giving it his best shot.

Good luck Brock. There's a chance you may keep your spot for another week if Curnow doesn't get the recall...which he deserves, but then again, if Brocky can be given games now to see where he's at, that's better than during the finals series.

I trust the MC, and as I've said before, they are doing a great job in 2011.

Can't wait to finally see Tuohy play in the great jumper.
I always thought that if he was given a chance he'd cement his spot from Day 1 if he doesn't get to ahead of himself.
Great pace, great strength and damn good kicker of the pill. We need as much of that as we can get.

Because we have no veterans we can have 2 rookies playing. We nominated Garlett at the start of the season and still had one spot available. Zac has now taken that spot. Zac's elevation is not a because a Senior listed player has been put on the LTI list. Check the Club's injury list - Mitchell's not on it.

This is not actually true. I assume you meant Curnow, not Garlett, but we haven't used the second spot, and it is now past the cut-off date. In a couple of weeks, all clubs (except GCS) can elevate a rookie, but Touhy has been elevated for Mitchell, who had shoulder surgery on Tuesday, and is out for the year.

So would I be right in assuming this surgery has been brought forward with a mind to getting Zach into the senior team? I thought Mitchell was scheduled for surgery at the end of the season.

Not sure if Mitchell had recently injured the shoulder but even if not, it gives him a chance at a full blown pre-season campaign, which is a good thing.

tough love for brock
JR on bench is a worry - surely they'd name him in 18 and then give him a fitness test ?? that's what normally happens, then they (whoever that may be) pulls out before the game

Never seen Zach, how tall is he? Can he do the JR role? JR has to be a doubt.

Ins - Zach, Curnow, Hoops

Outs - Brock, Laidler (inj), JR (inj)

Well he'd want to not play bruise-free footy this weekend

Maybe

Is about 187cm

Can certainly handle the smalls and at his height should handle mid sizers but prob not talls
Really excited by this - we have re-modelled and improved backline in 2011 and the improvements continue

Curious.
