Dees are acting like 16 year old girls who were felt up at the local drive in cinema on a Saty night

...and that was disgraceful.

Eddie Maguire would have exploded if it had been leveled at Blair for something similar.

I'd hope Greg Swann would give Malthouse a bake for the same statement.

Look at the votes for Round 10 from the Age and it puts a completely different spin on the story. Having a go at his own teammates?

I think it is funny.

They play the Bummers angry and we play the liquidators!

Go you angry - soft - bruise free - Dees!

It will take some courage and bravery to beat the Bummers :smoking:

This was started on Footy Confidential, who noted that both Carlton players used the term "bruise-free footy" which isn't a commonly used term and hence it must have been a theme within the club during the week.

The one problem with that is that on the Sunday Footy Show, Billy Brownless used the term himself in his review and then the question was asked of Armfield who said "As you said Billy, bruise-free footy".

So the evidence for it being a theme within the club is that Robinson and Billy Brownless both used it.

Either Footy Confidential made a mistake or they were being deceitful. Haveing Caro and Hutchy there, it could be either.

Murph also used the term in an after match interview on Triple M so have no doubt it was a 'theme' but so what. We identified from previous games an area we could exploit and did so.

Maybe its unfortunate the players mentioned it in the media, maybe its not unfortunate. It might effect their focus next time we play them.

The very fact Connelly felt compelled to respond publicly shows what a basket case they are.

The only appropriate response should be on the field.

And if they need this to get motivated the next time they play us, they've already lost.

The fact our boys went in with that mentality is based on one thing and one thing only - the rubbish Melbourne serve up to their fans week in week out.

What a pathetic club.

I was thinking the same thing. Start Robbo in the centre and let the Dees take their frustrations out on him. While they are giving us frees, Judd and Murphy will be pumping the ball to Waite and Krooz.

Melbourne coach Dean Bailey hits back at Carlton players' claims Demons play bruise-free football

Talk the talk but can they walk the walk?

I am not sure whether Demonoloy is a fair representation of Melbourne supporters but most of them agree that they play bruise free footy. The general view is that they agree with the Carlton boys and are far from insulted.
Perhaps old55 or biffin19 might pop in and give us their thoughts? If they don't then perhaps they are "bruise free" poster.

Snippy little bitch, isn't he?

Bailey should focus on his team's opponent this weekend, not continue to obsess over a game that's was played 5 days ago and which was lost by 47 points.

By the way I reckon we played bruise free footy against Collingwood in Round 3 this year from the second quarter onwards.

Actually it's reasonably smart from the D's.

Let's face it - the last thing they want the press writing about is their lack
of an effective playing system on field. I'd say they'd be very happy with
Robinson for giving them a distraction to work with.

Do we need this kind of attention, seriously?

Whether the boys spoke the truth or not is irrelevant - keep this shit in-house next time...

So Bailey talks of moments in one game where they went in hard

If I was a Melbourne player/official/coach/fan whatever I'd more disappointed that my club rightly or wrongly was perceived that way and would be using it as an insentive to improve across the board, not just to target a single game when the two clubs meet again.

Hilarious that they've been bullied, by a team that 12 months ago had well known reputation of being good when allowed to play on it's on terms (St Kilda, Geelong game early), yet was mentally fragile by dropping games when expected to win, as well as being an easy target to being outmuscled with unsocialble, contested footy. (in particular remember the Hawks game when they were 1-6, and the 'Lindsay Thomas' Friday night game).

From memory there was a lot of talk that we pushed the rules against them last year, with the physical intimidation of Aaron Davey, by Carlton players in particular Carrots used as an example.

Clear leader for any HTFU award for this year.
