I reckon the rain wont allow us to show the midfield dominance which is a mix of class speed talent and flair...and that alone will have the ball moving quickly one way with Hammer and Warnock in the ruck....in the dry....we'll be right.

2011 has started....in my mind...and maybe yours too?

I swaer I just saw Waite kick the first goal, Garlett the 2nd and Bettsy the 3rd with Walker lining up for the 4th from 35 out.

I'm so glad its back,,,and I hope the Aussies beat India to give me the quinella tomorrow night.

If I were coach: (god help us all)

Whichever Rich forward plays close to goal the job goes to Thornton.
White to play and lock onto Mortein.
Russell to play on Reiwoldt when playing up the ground.
If two Rich big men play close to goal White goes to one and Laidler is used as a third man up then Russell to switch to Mortein.
Yarran to play on Nahas
Duigen to play on White
Lucas on Hellofabigwaste

We always have Walker or Waite to help out in defense.

HUGE night for Hampson, this game is set up for him if he is good enough.

Walker to kick our first. Thats how I see it.
I wanted to put a few $$ on Betts being highest goal kicker but sportingbet don't have it.

Another game in the legs I guess. He did blow up at times against Geelong, but he worked bloody hard.

One of the four named on the interchange, and it's finalised with the final team sheets on game day. My guess is either Robinson or Curnow.

BTW, Morton would smash White. Too quick for him.

I think Carrazzo may be the sub. He missed a bit of the pre-season and hasn't played a lot of football

Jesus H that's a short line-up. Lucas is very, very lucky. The Tigers will just bang it to Vickery, we'll just bang it to Waite...

..if it turns into a 'bomb it forward shoot out' type game, thornton should be released to play the loose floating role since his 3rd man up/interception type work is one of his strengths..

..would be happy if they play jackson on judd.. ..first up 3vote game for juddy..

No chance on Thornton playing loose. If Riewoldt gets going, White or Laidler would get shredded. Another one to watch is Morton, who regularly has a field day with Russell on him.

..except jack won't play them one on one, the idea is for thornton to be 3rd man up.. ..it's not like you wouldn't double team jack when you can anyway, and thornton is better 3rd man up vs one on one i think..

..would expect JR to get morton.. ..also, if jackson cant hinder judd any they might switch morton back into midfield like they did last season.. ..they might wanna throw everything they've got against our midfield and hope their talls carry their fwdline..

And Carazzo.
Ratts was on radio today saying we wouldn`t be playing any injured players yet we have selected Carazzo who has had a very interrupted pre- season, only played a half against Geelong and stuffed up everything he touched.

There's an easy way to deal with this problem re lack of height tio deal with Riewaldt and Vickery. Dominate at the stopages with our superior ruck and midfield, and the supply to Jumping Jack will be cut off...
Big test without some of our key players though... Let's see just how 'uncoimpromising' we supposedly will be....

Great call by Jon Ralph  Just leave it to Hotcox Ralphy to let the footy world know whats going on.

I'm nervous...

it is a long way from our strongest side, with no Bower, Jamison, Hendo, Kreuz, Brock (yes I believe he is best 22 (though getting used to life without him) or Hoops (my opinion).

That is arguably over a 1/4 of our best side.

Nervous Nelly I know, but I just reckon Richmond would look at our selected side and think they are in with a show.

I felt the same way 2 years ago

Hotty he didn't really say anything wrong. Bower was still a chance and Collins is an emergency.

By that logic, White shouldn't be playing and Watson should.
