WOW !

What a whirlwind day , just got back to Perth after flying across this morning for the Family Day

Was so good to get out of town for the day and see the boys at Visy Park, Melbourne could have put on better weather for it though.

The guys did a light training session which was nothing more than a few kick to kick drills and then some zoning hand ball drill which was weird , setanta had no idea what was going on in this and Alan Richardson got stuck into him , setanta trudged off and muttered whens the fookin hittin start - poor guy still hasnt worked this game out.

Speaking of Richardson running the session , where the hell was Ratten? This is the clubs Family Day for its members and the head coach didnt even show up? i might start a sack ratten thread later.

I tell ya who is going to be a gun , Watson ! Thumping kick on him in all the handball drills - simply amazing - pity he is related to a bomber though.

After the boys wrapped up the session , Ian Coutts was firing up the BBQ for everyone in attendance but he failed to put the memo out that the BBQ was out in the carpark - Everyone could smell the sausages but none of us knew where to find the bloody things !!?!? A simple tweet - SNAGS BBQ CARPARK NOW #carlton#familyday wouldnt have been so hard would it?

Sticks then took everyone for a tour though the new facilities - bloody impressive shit - Andy Collins (ripper bloke but talks way too much like cousins) couldnt stop talking about how good the underwater treadmill was - Tour was way too quick though and i couldnt understand a word Sticks was saying.

Then it was back out onto Visy Park for the jumper presentations - WHO THE @#$%&! CHANGED OUR COLOUR TO BABY BLUE? why wasnt i consulted?

Absolutely hideous and some of the bloody players went and changed their numbers without asking too?

All in all it was a good day - most of the guys stuck around and gave out signatures - except brock mclean who refused to shake anyones hand and sat in the corner by himself most of the day ......strange.

I doubt i'd come across next year for the family day, i pay my membership each and every year but not once was i asked what i thought of the boards performance or whether i thought ratten should remain coach

and where was Judd?

PS - Russell is a gun

Very poor. My kids asked about it so I guess many others have as well.

It reflects how disengaged we the supporters are with the club. The club doesn't engage us enough which might explain the poor number of members that have signed up thus far. I think we are running last at the moment.

I saw the numbers in the paper and yes, we are lagging behind most clubs, including 21,000 behind Collingwood.
If anyone is going to the AGM this is something that may need to be raised, this and why supporters are being locked out of training when there is nothing on the clubwebsite saying the sessions are closed. Another big question is what the club are doing about trying to keep Murphy.

Didn't end up going. Set the alarm but like many others, I live an hour away so it means that I'd have to get going at 7am at the very latest to be there right on time or a few minutes late.
