i agree with giving it to collins. i think he will provide lots of excitement for us. thats what the number 25 has giving the carlton FC over the years.

Jeff Garlett?

Pity Sammy Jacobs wasn't still with us because I would have given it to him.

Yes he did.....I might still have a newspaper clipping somewhere with an article and photo

of Ben Jesaulenko; aged about 14 in a Carlton guernsey.

He was supposed to have some talent; but like David Walls and Michael James; had too much to live up to; and disappeared from the footy scene.

david walls never had the talent to make it, plus I saw him in an amateurs game about 10 years ago cop a hit that was enough to put anyone off playing footy for life, I think that mentally destroyed him asweell, from memory he spent a bit of time in hospital from it.

i say leave 25 alone until we've got someone worthy enough (or showing enough potential) to wear it to recent standards. on field standards!

Probably the most famous number at Carlton and shouldn't be given to just anyone. No rush just wait for the right person.

Ellard :screwy: surely you aren't serious...........

I'm not sure about that. I reckon 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 11, and 43 would give it a run for its money. 25 hasn't really been worn with that kind of distinction for 31 years.

Jack Darling when we take him at pick 18 this year!

No.16 should be reserved for Dylan Buckley to wear in 2012 IMO.

I reckon he might be a sneaky chance to get to 18.

Who cares who gets it?.....a player makes his own name thru his play and his actions.

Although; if I was a young player; I'd rather have #50 than 25..........

I don't think the club places much significance in jumper numbers. After all they gave No. 2 to Dominic Fotia !!!!!!! :screwy:
