Yes he is. His kicking skills are such that he could pinch hit forward as well. His pre-season is huge. As far as I'm concerned, next to Kreuzer it's the biggest at the club. RO'K has a good one and backs it up in the practise matches, it gives us really good flexibility with where other guys play. Lucas, Laidler, Russell, Gibbs etc.
Doc, if you were to compare or liken RoK's playing style, technique, demeanour and skill to a current AFL player/s would they be.
Just curious as ive seen SFA like many of us.
Cheers
He is very much like a taller version of Josh Hunt. He's a big boy (tall and solid) and has worked hard on his fitness. Saw him training before the finals and he has really lost the puppy fat he had. Could of played but deliberately rested for 2011. Over the past 2 years I have seen him play some great football but only in patches.
Needs to stay fit.
The kid is fearless and if he can stay on the ground will definitely play AFL in 2011 and if he does we will be a much better side.
One impressive part of O'Keefe is his kicking penetration. He kicks it 60m easily and not only hits a target but gets it there quick. This is an important commodity in modern football and with guys like he, Laidler, Touhy, Yarran running from defence with their kicking ability it will really help us breakdown the opposition zones and create realistic opportunities for our forwards!
