Our turn to go bang is coming - in the middle of a time when there will be others who will be keen for their turn to go bang too.

Pretty safe bet that, seeing as there's a decent armed conflict somewhere in the world every day of the week, every week of the year, every year since modern history began being recorded.

Has a Premiership ever been won during a time of absolute peace?

(no)

A couple of things, many of us (me included) were concerned at Ratts ability to inspire this team and make the right decisions with regard to reacting to what the other team are doing. The post break slump caused much of this concern the first part I am confident has been answered when the pressure from the media and us was put on the coach in a substantial way Ratts moved to ground level and it is obvious by the efforts of the playing group that they responded for their coach. The second part is still unanswered however I think with the right assistants backing him up and another year under his belt as coach he will improve his match day decision making. The positives for next year are without doubt there, Kruze hopefully ok at least by mid season, an injury free white with a good solid pre-season and same for austin. Maybe trade or draft a solid kpp backman to take the pressure off jamo & Bower (who I think still have massive upsides when playing with form & confidence) Grigg has slotted in well and I hope they keep giving him a crack, Lucas fit, McLean fit for the whole year would be nice. There is much to look forward too add some of these guys that have struggled with injury and form issues into what has been a very competitive unit this year and top 4 is not beyond them and who knows where from there.

GO BLUES

hey folks, don't want to start a new thread..
but have you seen the 2 part feature on the 1970 GF in HUN?
if not..try to get today's...16/09 copy.
it is fantastic...lots of suffering for them....
so much joy for us.
has up to date snippets from a few..including our Teddy Hopkins.
(my former land lord..and pretty fab. poet. )
trust me...it will make your day.
the highlights of 2nd half are apparently posted up at Super Footy.
any links geniuii..maybe you can post for interstaters?

Bluegirl,i personally have enjoyed reliving the 1970 Grand Final via that article.

Fortunately or otherwise ( subject to the opinion of my kids) photographic and video evidence continues to be released showing this T.C'er cavorting around the MCG within seconds of the conclussion of the match.

Whilst the same can also be said about 1968 and 1972 the simple fact is that 1970 will always live on in my mind as singularly( family aside) the most remarkable event in my life. To be there with 120k others and to witness a comeback such as that was completely mindblowing.

in some ways collingwood winning a flag in 2010 will serve Carltons cause well. - A great motivator.

The bang during our flag year will be noticeably larger than those of recent times. - probably the biggest bang in the last 70 years.
