We need to win at least 1 more game to avoid playing in Sydney or Perth in the 1st week of the Finals.

Swans play Lions in Rd 22, so at least 1 win for them.

Dockers (who are out of form) play Hawks in Tassie then us in Round 22. We are now 1 game behind them.

We really need to play 1st final in Melbourne to have a chance to get to 2nd week of finals.

We'll either play Freo, Sydney, Hawks or Norf in the finals. We've been shit against each of them this year.

After the debacle last year, would be better to play in Melbourne in front of a large Carlton crowd.

Freo have hit the wall since Barlow went down and Lurch has been out think they might struggle in Tassie- terrif game against the Swans that Mumford and Jack are unbeleivable players
Mcglynn looked pretty sick and sorry on the side lines

Might comedown to the last at Subi to see if we get the home gig

The Ideal scenario is Sydney at the G they are 1 from their last 12 there

Dont want them at the Dome

Win next week and it wont matter what happens to the rest will will finish 5th or 6th

We are almost assured of a finals spot now by my calculations. Will be dependent on the results of Hawthorn/Melbourne and North/St Kilda but if North lose then even if we lose our last 2 games and they, Hawthorn and Sydney win all their remaining games we will be 8th on percentage.

I still think Hawthorn at the G would be harder than either Swans or Freo away.

Geelong at the G will be tough on a Saturday afternoon too.

Freo could loose next week (VS HAWTHORN IN TASSIE) and after 4 losses in a row they could also loose the game at home against Carlton in Round 22.

Freo is guaranteed a final with 12 wins to date.

There is not the same level of desperation for them considering where they were this time last year.
They are short several key players. They will not win the Flag this year.

Depending on the outcome of the remainder of Round 20 and the next two rounds Carlton should finish the H+A rounds either at 8th, 7th, 6th or 5th. A final game is guaranteed after today's result.

There is some momentum after the 2 good wins against Essendon* and Richmond.

Next week's game is at Etihad against Geelong who play there Saturday (14/08) against the Bulldogs. A good result for CFC is a lot of Geelong players who are very sore and tired from the hard surface.

Despite the relative ladder positions, CFC matches up well with Geelong. Hence the most recent victories.

It could be an interesting 2 weeks.

Im pretty sure if we play Sydney in Melbourne, it will be at Etihad Stadium.

We will beat them at the G' but will lose to them at Etihad.

Sydney winning today was not a good result.

After waiting so long to see us in September, i'd hate for us to travel to either Sydney or Freo after having to endure the Brisbane debacle last year.

Yes I was very keen for Freo to win yesterday.

Assuming Freo stay in 5th-6th and earn a home final why couldn't there be 3 finals at the G?

Why would the AFL not give the Blues the MCG playing the swans if it fell that way?

It would be a sellout ...... great money spinner. Am I missing something?

I agree with Missnaut & BB, except that a game versus Freo or Sydney at the G wouldn't be a sell out.

Obviously a final at the MCG (against Freo or Sydney) would be the best case scenario for us, but I think we'd rather play at Subiaco than at Etihad or the SCG...

In fact, we might even prefer to play Freo at Subiaco than the Dawks at the 'G...

Isn't the AFL suing Etihad Stadium. No way there will be a final there all Melbourne games will be played at the G just like last year.

The AFL don't wont a repeat of players slipping during finals games.

Sydney or Fremantle at the MCG would be great.

Carl vs Haw in front of 80,000 at the G is what i am hoping for! After going up to Brisbane last year i am hoping we can play a final at the G this year. Although a road trip up to Sydney for the weekend is most appealing!!
