Absoloute rubbish by Barrett, speculation reported as fact as its worse.

Fact is the plan was to play finals and at the moment we are on track for that.

The bullcrap will cease once we roll the Scum

If we are as bad as people say we are, then the 9 teams below us are complete rubbish.

It obviously wasn't enough of a scoop to run with in the paper. There's nothing on the Hun website from Damo. I am not sure about the print edition but I doubt it.

Was this just filler for the segment??

I don't think he writes for the Hun anymore, he's teamed up with Hutchy.

Yeah I just looked at the website and I can't find any articles by him.

What does that mean? Teamed up with Hutchy. Is he Hutchy's gaffer? Secretary?

Really? Interesting. So he's given up trying to be a 'journalist'?

Your complete lack of football knowledge is truly astonishing. It is beond comprehension really.

How did this "group of unskilled players" manage to easily defeat the superpower of the past 3 seasons by using a combination of fast ball movement and exceptional disposal accuracy?

Fluke huh?

Then how did this same "group of unskilled players" back it up with a similar, perhaps slightly more impressive performance against one of the other power teams of the AFL?

Of course, that was a fluke again!!

Look - I don't know whether the major issue lies mostly with the coach, the playing group or a combination of both (most likely scenario), but to keep banging on about the list being a bunch of unskillful hacks that needs to be turned over is just plain bullshit.

Most of the playing group have shown they are phyiscally capable of anything during their time at the club. Now it's the mental, cultural and structural aspects of the team and coaching brigade that we need to get right to ensure they can perform at their peak week-in week-out.

I don't totally agree with BlueRob either Mil, but I fail to see how his post merits the personal attack.

But I don't totally disagree with him either. Have you ever seen me play golf? No, of course not. Man you should've seen my best shot - nearly a hole in one! In fact if I could put together a highlights reel of my best 20-30 strokes I reckon I'd look like a real star. I'm not though. Just a weekend hacker. Too many dud shots intersperse the good ones.

And that's the difference between a footballer who's worth keeping and one who isn't. Sure all the guys on our list are physically capable of playing quality football, but which ones are going to be able to do it week in week out? Personally I think it's a bit early to be throwing them all out bar five - there's heaps of young uns and they take time to develop consistency. But I do agree that there's a few with some big question marks hanging over their head.

But that's the key though Kev - you understand that there are things outside of physical ability which can make or break a player.

BlueRob on the other hand just keeps banging on about a team of "unskilled hacks" which is clearly wrong. Unlike your golf, where you can fluke a good shot here and there, you can't fluke entire games of great disposal and then just lose all your skill and ability entirely the following week. It is still there, but something is preventing it from happening.

Is it mental fragility?
Is it a lack of understanding of the game plan?
Is it a crap game plan that doesn't work?
Is it a game plan that is hard to implement successfully against certain other types of game plans?
Is it that the players don't have enough leadership?
Is it because the core of our playing group is too young?
Is it that the players find it hard to play for their coach or each other?

My guess is that it is a combination of all of the above to varying degrees.

BlueRob however thinks that the simple reality is that we just need to get some more skilled players

At least he could add an ounce of merit to his argument by admitting that it may have something to do with things other than just skill.

Trouble is, we may have "missed the boat" for any decent future players, as this year and next, Gold Coast & then GWS have the pick of the Up and coming young guns of the competition.

So if we get rid of our "ordinary players", how are we going to rebuild our list to anything that's competitive in the coming years? I can see us having to hold onto maybe pl;ayers that aren't up to the required standard for at leasst a few more years, and by then our Premiership window might have closed. :banghead:

I didn't ask for him to name his sources, but he needs more than "some er phone calls" if he expects to be believed.

Barrett is the guy who said Gibbs was off to the Gold Coast about 2 weeks before he signed. He has zero credibility.

I've got reliable sources in the Tatoo system that suggest he's a shady character.

Guess who's back? SL!

Look Carrots hasn't developed to the stage of winning a NRS nomination, this is more than enough evidence he has failed in his job.

Ratts has also turned GIBBS back into gibbs.

In all seriousness, Ratts has played his cards this week and has nothing left in the hand if things go sour again tonight. This is it IMO, a loss spells the end.

Ratts has bled Blue, but is it enough?

Damian Barrett isnt even an Eddie McGuire wannabe. He's a Craig Hutchinson wannabe.

Hutchy-lite.

Too lazy to even chase the ambulance.
