NO WAY!
The boys themself have said he is positive and is extremely encouraging.
He'll coach us to our next flag no doubt, no one loves the club more than this man!
Well done Ratts, things are starting to look very good this year.

Couldn't possibly let this thread slip off page one.

Well - something to talk about for a fortnight -

BUMP

Brett, I thought you were over it. I thought you’d realised that we were hopeless when we played around the fence. I thought you’d embraced the corridor and our run from attack. I thought you’d developed a game plan to make our forward line effective.

But it was a mirage.

You have Waite and Hendo leading to the grandstand for 3 quarters. Your plan of rolling the side up the ground to kick over the back has been found out. Your kickout zone got ripped apart tonight. You will say we disposed poorly, were inaccurate and a man down, and all these things are partly true. But in your mind you should now we were inaccurate because our chances were poor and we were inefficient because the pattern of play was hopeless.

You thought we could get Judd outside ‘the bubble’ by giving away our first round pick, and again you were wrong. He’s getting smashed, and it’s your fault.

Brett, you are back at the crossroads.

Don't you mean "completely true"?

Take advantage of our scoring shots in that 1st quarter and it could have been a completely different game.

Sack him

Judd gets slaughtered in midfield. He is going to be ruined by the time he is 29 if this keeps going
Fwdline dysfunctional
Puts Gibbs onball when we are 6 gls down, every time. Why not be proactive rather than defensive and play the star onball and assist Judd??
Not for the first time we dominated most stats but we lost. A better coach would be getting a better return.
Game plan appears to be 'have ball uncontested 70m from directly in front, and kick wide to the boundary to a 2-1 where the 1 is a Carlton player'
Ratten is clueless
Bichmond would beat us right now

That's what happens when you are taking shots from the boundary, or quick snaps hoping for a miracle. You miss.

Go down the guts and hit a target.

Just kick it long!

And watch it come back over our head with interest after the players turn it over.

No.

yes, that is the optimum object of course. But not every shot in that first 1/4 was unrealistic, they could quite easily have been nailed. Not to mention the one when no advantage was paid and then Waite? missed the set shot.

We scrapped it early, hence the poor conversion.
Scrappy bec the fwdline is dysfunctional, just like last week
And yet we won nearly all key indicators
Structure is just terrible and coach needs to take some heat for that
When we beat Saints we moved the ball quickly, but we haven't done that since

But this is such a fraught argument that many people use. Had we kicked the first, then the ball would have gone back to the centre and a completely different set of circumstances would have eventuated. You know, Kruiser may not have even had his knee blown out. It could have been Judd or Pavlich at the next centre bounce. Or we could have taken it away and kicked a torp from he centre square through the middle...or vice versa.

I've never understood that argument.

Yep. Brilliant idea.

Typical of the mindset of the coaching staff.

But IF we turn it over, but IF we make a mistake.

Thinking and playing scared and it shows. Being concerned about turning over the ball and watching it sail back over your head is NOT the right attitude. You don't win unless you take risks.
