The Juddster's e-mail spurred me out of my laziness and I ponied up for the family today so add 4 more to the list. Toughest renewal in a long time, decision made on loyalty and commitment alone, cant remember the last time I spent that much money and didnt feel excited about what I was getting for it. Could be worse I guess, somebody somewhere bought a Storm membership last week!!!

Watch all the bandwagon supporters jump on now.

Yeah you know who you are, especially the scum that said they wouldnt support the club if FEV went.

WELL he's gone and we seem to be doing just fine on field and especially off field.

All will be forgiven if you pick up the phone tomorrow morning and purchase your 2010 season membership.

GO BLues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think there are many bandwagon supporters on a site like this.

Couldn't help but laugh at a couple of supporters I know who jumped on us after yesterday. These are two supporters that were of the "we're in for a shit year without Fev" opinion, AND the "I'm not buying a membership" rubbish.

Got an email from the Carlton Membership Department apologizing for sending a reminder for me to sign up when I was already a fully paid and signed up member.

I told them after the win against Geelong no apology was necessary and if we beat Collingwood this week I will buy one for Mum.

I bought one for my unborn son in November last year.

Dont know why but i feel that membership numbers are very important and we should have as many as the top clubs if not more.

its disappointing that there has been a drop off this year - obviously on the back of the Fev trade
hopefully most will snap out of it and jump back on board

Jamo was on radio this morning and said that 11,000 of last years members have not rejoined.
I guess the Fev factor comes into it but it is pretty poor by some people.
On the positive side that means that 6,000 new members have joined up.

Anyone who went to the Save Fevola rabble is free not to join!

Having said that there were about 20 people there so that's probably not the reason!

Not sure what the usual turnover is, but you'd expect another 4000 member to sign and say 300 of those were members last season...that leaves 8000 who don't renew. I imagine that would be about normal, maybe slightly above.

You make a good point TBB,

Natural attrition happens all the time.
As for 11,000 of the 40,000 not signing up, well that's a very high churn rate imo.
Something strange about that.

I'm sure the Brizzy game had a negative impact because of the Fev connection
I'm sure the dispirited/ half hearted effort by the players against the Bumbers also had a negative impact.
This weekend against the Magpies is vital for a positive turn in our membership drive.
Maybe a Pratt family member (after the win) could make a plea on behalf of Dick to motivate more memberships.

I do believe that the club needs to stop taking the members for granted, because churn is something measurable and it doesn't look good at 11000 for the Marketing and Communication Depts.

Seems a pretty poor return so far given we are a so called powerhouse...how many members from last year are yet to re-sign?

11,000 according to Jamo in a radio interview last week.

From todays HUN

Quote:
Richmond has 40,771 members (36,000 fully ticketed) and is pleased to be so close to its target of 42,000 despite a horror 0-6 start to the season.

Have I missed something :?: :?

If that's true then it seems our supporter base is either dwindling or our supporters are very fickle...disappointing
