Well if your post proves correct that would make it 3 in a row where we have 'not learnt from our mistakes'.

The logical consequence of this would be to sack Brett Ratten for incompetence. Doubt it will happen for a while though.

It wont happen, but Warnock should be dropped for Jacobs.

Freo thump Essendon* (in Melbourne mind you) and we don't even get close and now we go to Adelaide with the knowledge that the Dees have beaten the Crows....we will lose of course....but what is more important here is that it is no fluke that Melb and Freo (teams we laughed at last year) are making in roads whilst we stagnate and proceed to go backwards...delaying change for too long will be detrimental as other teams will have flown passed us in development while we try to work out what is we are doing...

My feelings exactly. Adelaide are probably thanking their lucky stars they get to face the Blues next week.

That's been the case the last 2 years in my eyes.

Bad news on Bower.

Jimmae, whilst Setanta shouldn't be dropped, he really needs a talking to after last nights effort. His decision making was one thing but worse for me was his work off the ball. Lacked any intensity or physicality and allowed his man to link up bringing the ball out of defence ... sometimes he didn't even chase his man down the ground. Was disappointed in his efforts.

He dropped back into a zone further up the ground as per instruction and allowed his man to sit back with about 3 other Essendon* players. He ran his guts out, just not in the traditional man-on-man defence.

He was also posted to defence at one point, so those who cry about his non-existent moments during the game, might want to notice that he was existing up the other end of the field. He copped a bad day at the office and unlike one B.Fevola, he didn't concede 50 m penalties, sook about delivery and take his shoes off and sit on the boundary like a 4 year old who needs a nap.

*Deep breaths*

Sorry, bit over the top, but I am in the process of copping a vitriolic display akin to some of the darker posts on TC (note: not your post) at Sunday dinner. A certain family member is making the naysayers here look like logicians.

After last night how can any one pencil in ANY win? Seriously?

Adelaide in Adelaide. Of course we will win, no doubt whatsoever. What was I thinking?

Come to think of it I doubt it matters whether the likes of Dangerfield, Tippett or Henschel play.......the Crows will just put a spud like Moran up forward instead and no doubt he will kick a bag of goals.
Watch this space.

Neil Craig, who I thought was a pretty good coach, will be under very serious pressure. I thought after last wk it looked like Knights had lost his players - how wrong was I. But this is a disastrous start for the Crows. But they have been miles too good for us for ages. Judd will make a massive difference. We need some run out of defence. Our defence looked very, very static. TBird looked about as fast as Percy Jones, Walks seems to have lost his dash, Jammo is a dour defender and JR and Army have a bit if toe but also have poor disposal. We need to try and play through the corridor, move the ball in quickly and have several crumbers. I'd play Gartlett. Use Eddie Betts in the middle at ball ups. I can't work out our game plan but more worryingly neither can the players. We need to simplify things and try and make the players more instinctive rather than going for mechanical short kicks to the boundary. Anyone who can carry the ball and kick needs to be tried in defence - don't know who. Setanta needs to be given a clear simple role. Lead quickly then double back again and again.

I was certain we would win last night. There is really something wrong at a club that services up that rubbish against a fierce rival that has beaten us 5 times in a row with an inferior playing list.

The way the Crows are going you'd think we could win, but we are great at playing sides into form.

If they play a tight zone in our defensive half we will never get through it then get smashed on the rebound.
it's will be 2009 all over again, just like Saturday night.
We have no players who can run through a zone, kick to a moving target over 40 metres, and no targets who can lead and mark a conested/semi-contested ball, when we switch across defence we are to slow and our mids don't have the speed of mind or foot to react.
FFS Simpson and Betts are our best half forward targets.
Blues by three goals

Ha ha!!...but yeah...caught myself wondering what it would be like to be a doggies supporter today....then felt really guilty..then laughed...
Does anyone know if Leading Teams includes coaching staff in their training?
Anyway...I'm hoping the nightmare loss was an anomaly.

The Crows will be out for blood this week. After losing to Melbourne, Craig David will have the boys up and about, despite a few lost players. Agree about someone like Moran being thrown forward and kicking a few goals...last night Williams hadn't kicked any goals yet for the season and he bagged four. Adelaide for mine are a team that will play in September, and this week seems like a great opportunity to open their account for 2010 playing at home off the back of a disappointing performance and against a team that they've had the wood on for 5 years.

Going forward as a club means breaking these hoodoos before we well and truly climb into the top 4 of the ladder. After losing to Essendon* again and the hoodoo continuing, I'm not so confident we will get up against the Crows who have had it over us longer than the Bombers have. I apologise for being negative as I generally regard myself as quite optimistic, maybe a little too optimistic, but the way the team went down last night does that to supporters. This week I'm looking for EFFORT out of all 22 blokes. It's never great to lose but if the team puts in 100% then there is nothing left to ponder if the result doesn't go our way.

Ratten is in for a very grilling week from the media. As we saw with Brittain and Pagan, the media vultures start to circle when things don't go as planned. After losing to Essendon* (again...) the pressure he will be under is the greatest of his coaching career. It is not so much if we lose this week that the pressure will be upped again, but if the team are out there running around like a pack of headless chooks with no structure, then the media frenzy will be almost too hard to stop. Supporters are getting impatient, and rightly so.

Hoping like hell that if the media frenzy gets pretty bad this week that we will go in as underdogs where the team are in a much better position to win.

A bad week in the media may work in our favour.

The crows will cop it this week from the media after losing today. Its the same case with the bombers last week.
We were crap last night.

I want to see blood this week and bones crunched, I don't give a toss if players get reported and rubbed out, its our line in the sand game, all the weak tarts who are too scared to cross that line can stay in Melbourne.

We haven't beaten this mob since 2004, enough is enough, time to stand up and deliver.
