What's the bet that one of their ins, probably Riemers, pops up and does a number on us?

I won't be as sure as some of you until the siren has ogne on Saturday night.

Agree with this PJ.

Agree with lots of other posters about their outs.
Not just this week, but from previous games they have won over us when
they probably should not have.
Six changes is a lot and you rarely see that.

Make no mistake they will treat it as a final and come out all guns blazing
and with a few surprise moves to boot.
Hope we have an agenda for Ryder playing as a quasi full forward ?

But having said the obvious about their changes, against this mob the possibly
more profound change is the no Fev factor. It wont be so easy for their squibs
to just sag off and get cheap run through the middle.
Really looking forward to Mclean take on Watson too.

Apart from all that...... we should frickin SPIFFLICATE the mongrels !!!!

Close for the first 2 and a half quarters, then Blues kruise home by 46
and then one happy forum for a week, though some may say if Ratts
coached better we could have won by 146 !!

Proactive not reactive? Sounds like the empty rubbish a politician would say when they're lacking ideas. If you want to push this agenda at least come up with something of substance.

Donstuie got it...read his post....hope it helps you get that substance you are after....

Wait, let me get this straight...

You have doubts about Ratts as a coach?

Why have you said something before?

Ok I think we can beat them with Lloyd, Lucas, Monfries, Lovett, McPhee, McVeigh and Davey, so why the hell wouldn't I expect us to win without those players?

Think about it!! Where do you see them kicking 14 goals to be close in the game? I don't see how they can especially when the best FF and CHF in the AFL played us last week and that team only kicked 16 against us.

Essendon* will come out pumped, running hard and physical off and on the ball, but again we match the intensity the Bombers drop off like they have been and we run away with a win. The Bombers midfield isn't much better than Brisbane's and we smashed them. We are going to win plenty of ball and have plenty of inside 50's so convert our chances early and whatever the Bombers throw at us is wasted energy, if the Bombers don't get the result on the board early forget about them.

I will be pissed off if we lose this one, the draw is opening up for us so this is a massive result setting up our season.

just an idea, it will free up waite to play forward.
gee i hope we beat these #$#@%! i hate them.

You forgot one thing, they all play well above their shoulders........

While I worry about their speed with all those changes, I am also content knowing that our team is a lot more settled than theirs.....

Bring them on I say and put them to the sword!

Yep, we need to be on the front foot, confidently dictating the terms in the coaches box and on the field this time. We have the cattle to be in that mindset.

There's something wrong between the ears of our players if we can't grind them over 4 quarters for a minimum 50 point win.

Personally, I am expecting at least a 10 goal win with Betts and Setanta to kick 5, Yarran and Henedrson 2 each, Midfielders to shine in with 5 collectively and Waite to kick 1-3 depending on how much time he lays forward.

Naurally Robbo will kick at least 1 and he's playing for his spot, so I'm expecting to see some very sick, sore and sorry Bumbers.

I have no doubt whatsoever that we will take our our revenge on them tonight for the last 5 outings against .

Percentage booster: Beat them from pillar to post and then string up their MC for a public stoning starting with Knights and Camporeale.

How dare they expect to be mentioned in the same breath as Carlton.

I want them onon toast. I'm feeling carnivorous today. Lets feast on their corpses.

I want blood! Bumbers blood!!

Most of all, I want to really build up our PERCENTAGE tonight.

Blues by 50-100 points

Well said. Ratts himself has admitted we've been reactive in the past, and even using TC as an example, all the talk is of "we need to stop their run...who do we put on this guy" etc. If these thoughts have popped into the MC's head we're a long way towards getting done again.

Let them worry about us for a !@#$%& change!

We're just discussing the basics here, so using TC as an example is a bit rough on the MC.

Ultimately there are plenty of ways we can exploit the Bombers once we have possession, and they should be highlighted, but we also need to:

A) Get the ball off them
B) Keep it off them
C) Use it as per instructions until such a time as the instructions appear useless
D) Come up with a new strategy, rinse, repeat

B, C & D have been straight forward enough for us over the last 18 months, it's A we have trouble with, especially against this mob. They position numbers better around the contest to exploit handballs, knock-ons, scrubbed kicks, the lot. We get sucked in (and the same thing used to happen vs Brisbane where we'd swarm the contest and Black would scrub it out to the runners), and leave opponents sitting in space.

You can't give such an offensively minded team such space to roam in. We need to defend smarter - not necessarily closer - because they have an edge in foot speed. As far as I'm concerned that's not worrying about what they can do, that's concentrating on the fundamentals.
