She was always going there as soon as they were getting a license. Pretty much said she was an Essendon* girl in her first interview with the club. Hopefully now that every club has a license and the wages increase the league can settle and this musical chairs at the end of every season can stop. There's some serious talent in this years draft, I hope we ship Vescio off too if she has any value left and hit the draft. Even more talent coming through in the next few years as we start to see the wave of girls who have grown up and played through the proper pathway all the way from Under 9s. NAB League is still only 6 years old, and two of those years were covid affected. |

Wow, all that talk about sisterhood and the good of the game exposed for what it is. Horse shit. A fledging comp isn’t going to be helped by all of this. Why would kids get invested in teams and players when they are this mercenary? Expansion with such a small skill base was always questionable. |

It would seem it is more of an advantage for the new clubs coming into the competition. The foundation clubs did all the hard work and now just have their players taken from the new clubs. Do we get any sort of compensation for losing these players? |

In the last round of expansion (Rich, StK, WC, GC) I don't believe compensation was offered to existing clubs losing players, but during the first round of expansion (when Roos & Cats entered) there was.Previously most existing clubs could lose a maximum of 4 players to expansion clubs, though it was maximum of 8 for same state rivals Bris (GC) & Freo (WC). Perhaps it will be 4 again for most clubs, but 8 for Adelaide (Port) and GWS (Syd)? |
