Twitter would go into meltdown, accusing the booers of not being inclusive.

Why cant they just include the booers

We should all be inclusive.... but only include the people i want to include.

We would want to, given what we are losing.

On the question of disloyalty my understanding of it is that the Collingwood offer is a true "Godfather offer". It is the difference between being able to be a professional footballer and not. Given that she approached them this year it stands to reason that they wouldn't have upped their last years offer, at least not much (why would you , if she's come to you then you know she's close). If that is correct - and I have heard whispers that tend to confirm that - then she turned down a Godfather offer last year, probably in part out of loyalty and appreciation for us standing by her in her injury lay-off.

I posted this in the general womens thread:

At the open training before the Bulldogs game my daughter buttonholed Mark La Guidice to express her pleasure that he was at all the AFLW games. She took the opportunity to ask about players, especially her favourite Lucas-Rodd. Was told he didn't know her situation specifically but we had signed up 21 players to return etc etc. He confirmed Davey was GONE and said the Club's position was simple:

"If you don't want to play at Carlton then don't." Bitter much?

Whilst on the face of it a captain approaching another club trying to get traded is a dog act, it would appear Collingwood's offer to her is massive and way above what we could/would pay. Weare not talking about the men's equivalent where the issue might be "do I make $5mill or $6 mill over the next 4 years", here it is a choice between an income that probably stops you from being a full time footballer and an income that allows you to be a full time footballer and I think that puts it in a very different perspective. Add to that the fact that she stayed last year when the Collingwood offer was again way better than ours (although we went up I don't think we were close to matching) and I think maybe sacrificing her self-interest again is asking a lot.

Remember there are 3 AFLW captains changing clubs this off-season - it is in the nature of the way the competition is structured, has evolved and is evolving.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's more to it than has been publicised.

When is Bri requesting a trade to Stk?

Apparently the AFLW decided to give the Bulldogs the #1 pick for a player they lost, rather than us getting it in the Davey trade.

There is a little known codicil in the AFL Constitution, that says, if there are two interpretations of a decision that affect the Carlton Football Club and one of them benefits the Carlton Football Club and one doesn’t, we meant the one that doesn’t.
