I'm a self confessed intolerant old man but I love that post from Darcy.
It doesn't try to enforce views on anyone else. It just outlines what brings happiness and contentment to Darcy.
It's the do gooders who want to enforce viewpoints on behalf of others that offend me.
If it bring Darcy contentment and happiness to be addressed as they/them, I'm all for buying into it.

Darcy is essentially arguing for Heather Mouncey to be part of AFLW.

Not sure Darcy's arguing for anything.

Your choice not to think so. But she’s arguing about the ability for people to identify as what ever they want. And that’s fine. Except it’s the argument that Mouncey uses.

This all comes back to the topic of sex vs gender, these people can identify with whatever gender they want, because gender is a social construct, but the confusion comes when they want to try and equate gender with sex. You can be non-binary-queer-stone-fluid-<insert whatever word you feel best describes yourself today>, but there are only ever two sexes. There is no “spectrum of sex”, but there is a “spectrum of gender”.

And no, the existence of people with two sets of genitalia doesn’t prove that sex is “non-binary”. Genetic aberrations occur all the time in small numbers, just like Siamese twins that share organs (ie a liver) doesn’t prove that there’s a “spectrum of having a liver”.

If Darcy wants to be referred to as “they”, then all power to her, but she’s still a female.

So you're saying Darcy should be kicked out of the AFLW because she no longer considers herself to be a W.

Using men and women as terms to define sporting competitions will have to change.

I would like to be identified as a fax machine.
This way I can tell all of these woke citizens that want to be identified as something different just to stand out, who then want to be treated as not being different, only to then be offended if they are or aren't, to get faxed or fax off.

What’s the correct pronoun for a fax machine?

Darcy is female, that is fact.

The AFL don’t need to change a thing, these people need help and stop believing in this crap.

Yeah, your comment is exactly why it needs to change. Men and women are genders but male and female are biological sexes. What I meant is that they have to stop using gender as a description of the competitions, they need to base it on biological sex. One competition is for all those born as female and the other competition is for everyone else.

Or we can just eliminate women's sports, and just have an elite tier open to the best competitors of all genders.

Just don't complain when there are no females in the top flight of every sport.

It's almost as if there are physiological differences between male and female.
