Orange socks round aside, when was orange recognised as an official colour of the uniform, practice game or not?

And by whom?

Maybe we needed more than one round to raise awareness for DV in Australia?

And would you look at that, we're talking about it, did you know on average one women is killed every week at the hands of her current or former partner?

Still plenty of blue in the kits bluedog.

Thanks for that link Agro jr.

I must have missed that article at the time, or at least certainly forgot about it.

Time to read through some of my many 'history of Carlton' books!

(still not sure though, that the women were wearing orange recently for the Respects concept, let alone any link to the past)

We all know that in the AFL, simple possession count can be a false indicator of one's performance/impact, but I think this can even apply much more in the AFLW.

Still, the standard of play will surely improve given time.

Kelli Underwood's commentary is questionable, to say the least.

Shouts at almost every opportunity.

Talks about the sirits of the Saints being lifted.

Refers to a player kicking on the lefts/less/lefs.

Mentions that a player has broken his tibula.

All within a 6-minute highlights package.

So she's no worse than her male commentary colleagues then.

Never forgiven her for her commentary in Season 1 of AFLW - Carlton-v-Adelaide, where she literally barracked for the Crows throughout.

God knows I've tried but seriously how can anyone watch this crap

Many a time it's like that, but you'll find patches of good stuff if you hang in there.

If the standard hasn't picked up considerably within 20 years, I think I'll have to reconsider as well.

And don't forget, it's Pride Round this week.

Watched a little bit. Reminded me of really bad wet weather footy.

No doubt it'll get better (it's has to)

Matter of time before a really serious head injury. They are very reckless and don't know how to protect themselves or others.

It might be because the Blue girls are stinking it up but the skills look like they have gone backwards from last year.
They looked like a well oiled machine last year. But this year they are fumbling and bumbling

The similarities to our men's team are quite scary at the moment.

So not even worth a separate game thread.

Game awareness is frequently non-existent, although a couple of decent linking passages of play.

Most can't kick very well.

Harris likes to crash the pack or crash the individual a lot of the time, but fails to do some of the harder stuff when it is needed.

The Bulldogs missed some sitters early - we missed some sitters late.

Bulldogs played one player down for most of the game, and seemed to have players that wanted it more, and more players with more natural skill and game awareness.

Would have been good to have Laloifi out there tonight.

But as long as they were happy wearing the multi-coloured jumper, what else really matters?
