Disappointing to see Walker and Dalton only taking and/or being offered 1 year deals

2020 is an Olympic Year, are they going to be able to play the 2020 AFL season as well as commit to the Rugby 7s.

From a long-winded process of deduction I believe that only leaves Davey, Lucas-Rodd, Mullane and Webb in contract limbo from the 2019 list.

Interesting. I thought Mullane received a 2 year deal when she crossed from the Pies but I could be wrong. I believe Lucas-Rodd is Davey's partner. Perhaps that has something to do with her contract discussions. Personally, I wouldn't re-sign Lucas-Rodd based on form.

Not sure on Mullane BV, I thought the two year contracts had only just become an option for the ladies from this current sign and trade period. Yes, I'd also made the same connection with Lucas-Rodd's contract and agree, she'd be lucky to get another go based on form.

I missed Rexy's link in another post, but apparently Mullane has retired while both Lucas-Rodd and Webb have been delisted. Just Davey left unaccounted for now.

Sadly, in the AFL's wisdom, pick 1 was awarded to Richmond (since traded to Doggies for Conti). At this stage Collingwood have picks 2, 26, 44, 59 and 74 with the second trade window ending today. I hope Harf can convince Davey to stay, otherwise you'd hope those first couple of Collingwood's picks would be headed our way in any trade.

This generation of under 18 girls have been playing football since Auskick, I’d be taking Collingwood’s first two picks - if Davey doesn’t want to stay she can go and take her partner with her.

Goodbye Captain Davey don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

We got pick 2 and I think there were a swap of other picks.

Hope the partner went as well, list clogger.

Scratch that

FORMER Carlton skipper Brianna Davey is now officially a Collingwood player with the two clubs completing a trade that saw six picks swap hands.

Womens.afl understands Collingwood has handed over a first, second and third-round pick in return for the star onballer.

Fourth-round selections have also been exchanged, while Carlton has also traded its fifth-round pick to its cross-town rivals.

This means Carlton has now obtained picks 2, 26, 44 and 59 from Collingwood as part of the deal.

The Blues already have picks 13, 36 and 52, while picks 67 and 82 now belong to the Magpies.

We lose: Davey, 67 and 82
We gain: 2, 26, 44, 59
Total draft haul: 2, 13, 26, 36, 44, 52, 59

Numbers like this would look wonderful in the men's game, but not so much in the women's game. We're losing our captain and best player, and receiving nothing in return but speculative youngsters.

Au contraire.

This crop of speculative youngsters coming through are the generation of girls that have played footy since Auskick, think Maddy Prespakis good in the first 10 or so.
