I'd keep good players like Harris.

Just keep building via the draft and good list management like bringing in the rugby 7s girls.

Under normal conditions, I couldn't agree more Rexy, but the coming draft won't be normal. Given the draft concessions the four new teams will receive and our second place finish we aren't going to be getting much of a sniff at top end talent from this draft. I think it's crucial that we hold on to as many of our current list as possible and hope like hell that the youth we've already drafted hold us in good stead until the following year's draft. With a bit of Harf's good salesmanship you'd also hope to trade-in a couple of experienced mids that want to get a taste of his program that all the players have talked up.

It would be good for the Rugby 7’s girls Walker and Dalton to play a season of VFLW, as they need some continuity, but 2020 Olympics start in July, so it might be likely that they may not play the 2020 AFLW season which would be a shame.

Harris is exceptionally talented but she's conditional about her commitment and effort. Blatantly giving up on a contest yesterday was indicative and not for the first time. IMHO she's suited to individual sport, not team sport.
The game is evolving at an enormous pace. Players like Moody who was top 2 in the B&F last year have been left behind already.
The youngsters coming into the game are transforming it and access to them will be crucial.

Good post.

Re Harris's commitment and effort, I very much agree.

Although I reckon we picked her up as much as a marketing ploy, as for her skills.

Quote:
Another day, another AFLW trade bombshell, with Collingwood reportedly making a bold play for Carlton captain Bri Davey — a move that has left the Blues “filthy”.

“She has been offered a significant contract by the Pies. Carlton, as you can understand, are filthy with that and they will have to broker some kind of trade. Whether that can happen quickly, I’m not quite sure.”

Collingwood currently holds Pick 1 in the draft, which would likely have to find its way to Carlton as part of a potential Davey trade.

Kirby, Audley, Kennedy, Hicks and Watt.

I have started a delistings thread.
