Well 2 games in at the new home and 2 wins. I liked the Dome even before we moved home games. Yes I will miss OO but those 2 wins have made TD look even better in my eyes. :P

Sure the crowds have been small and as a result - entry/exit - has been a snap but I think it is a case of "So Far, So Good".

Playing wise we haven't looked slow or out of our depth. The boys look to be enjoying playing there and the vibe around the club seems to be all embracing for the future.

How do the rest of you feel so far???

Regards Cazzesman

yes, a good move indeed and we wont become like stklida and not being able to play at the G because we play several home games there!

Winning games at our new home will help our cause enormously. We need our young players to know what it feels like to win and so any win against any side can only be good....especialy at places like the Dome.

More a function of the time of day the games were scheduled - again we are getting no favours from the AFL - like to see them try and schedule the Semi-Final on Sunday evening.

I think it's channel 10 that determines the schedule.

TD is great...BUT nowhere for the kids to have a kick  Means they don't get knackered and they drive me nuts 3rd and 4th quarter

Game scheduling has been poor if you have young kids who have school the next day who you have also brainwashed to be Carlton supporters. If yesterday was 2.10 instead of 5.10 there would have been 3 more people there that I know of.

Very disappointing ch 10 didn't show the song, the kids were ready to belt it out, my son had cranked up the volume on the tele, but it didn't happen.

You should have switched the radio on.

Not to mention Ch10 who no more than 5 seconds after the final siren ended the telecast for both our games. Didnt even hear the bloody song. Like to see Ch Eddie try that with Poowood games

Agree wholeheartedly - I think one of the ancillary benefits of winning the first two rounds is that we have got to play at TD our new home ground -given our very ordinary record there it is good to chalk up some wins.
We used to have a terrible record there primarily I think because we were very slow. With addition of chambers stevens waite walker in the last few years has help rectify this deficiency- still need more pace but better than we were previously
If we beat the dogs whilst obviously better to play at TD against weagles or kangas but wouldnt really mind if we travelled west as this would be a good test given we travel 4 times in regular season .

Yeah I am willing to be cautiously optimistic with our results at TD.

Cautious cause I have this grave feeling the hardness of the surface of TD is likely (although I hope it doesent) to cause nasty injuries...

Having said that perhaps they have fixed the issues with the ground surface??

I like the fact that we play a good number of games at the MCG as well so we don't forget how to play outdoors. St Kilda seem have made the Dome their fortress at the expense of winning elsewhere.

Being successful at the dome has been shown to depend heavily on having a good running side. What has stood out even at this early stage is the dash that we appear to have, something missing from the last couple of years.

We actually look quick, which at the dome is critical.

I rate the dogs also as a pretty quick side, so this saturday will be interesting.

It bodes well. 3 key areas over the last few season that have stood out like the proverbial are:

    speed
    kicking skills
    ruck work

I'm confident that the first two have been addressed and appear to be improving. Sadly we're still too reliant on bananaby.

Yep the Dome is shaping well, been going to PP/OO since a long, long time, but recently I was getting really sick of the long haul to get there and away. The Dome is so central and easy. The test will be the all ticketed affairs. I hate prebuying seats, I like being able to swipe the card and get in. Also last year for night games if you got there 15 minutes early the ground was empty, fills up at the last minute.

PS You're right bh we do rely a lot on Barney, with little back up, but he's been really good and the restricted circle in the centre suits him.

Geez Callum Chambers makes us look quick. I was rapt how speedy we actually looked - such that it doesn't seem to be a problem anymore.

It also looks like Houlahan has been told to sprint when he gets the pill. We've just got to stop him circling back on himself and run straight lines.

Still not a fan of the Victory Room.

Hollow, empty, fake, no substance. It's only saving graces so far are the great choice of Daniel Harford for MC for the pre/post game addresses and the relatively cheap drinks for TD.

Other than that, nothing to entice me to go get a social club membership

Good to see Harf being given a job around the club after he stepped aside while still being under contract (I do have that right don't I?)

Yeah agree cammo.

No atmosphere whatsoever.

Do agree on Harford though, he was the only bloke who spoke prior to the bombers game that I could hear.

Does anone even know what Luke Blackwell or Glenn Bowyer said?

And although it's called the Kernahan room, it's just not designed for the broadcasting of the low frequency of his voice.

Troy Longmuir = proof we allow the mentally handicapped into the AFL.

Now if someone could put a hit out on Roy Carroll, he'd be a trendsetter.

I agree that it's fantastic that we are winning at what is now our home ground. If we win this week, and say the Eagles win too, will we play again at the Dome or in Perth or don't we know the answer to that yet?
