To tonights three umpires, who succesfully managed to implement two seperate sets of rules in one game. One for Richmond, and the opposite for us. Well done, you f*cking arseholes. Looking forward to a game where we get an equitable dose of umpiring - we'll thump whoever is our opponent that day. |

I looked at the scoreboard before the game, saw three names I barely knew and thought right we might get a fair go tonight. 1. Marc Murphy out on the wing taking a mark. Richmond player puts his arm across Murphy and slings him to the ground. You couldn't do that even before they introduced the law about spoiling by taking out the arms. 2. Whitnall gets into position, Richardson flies, interferes in the contest and is awarded a free kick. Why is it Whitnall is the only player not allowed to hold his ground in that situation? Been pinged for it heaps. 3. The free kick to Ray Hall at 50 against Deluca in the 3rd quarter. You dont get a free kick for dropping the mark. Then he was allowed to hand the ball over to Pettifer while he remained on the ground. Pettifer took the kick (thankfully missed) and Ha;; jogs back to his position ![]() |

50 50 tonight Angry at the crap we got served up...but we were lucky going the other way a few times. That's life. Get over it...our mistakes lost us the game. |

That free against Whitnall was an absolute joke. It appears as though the days of the true footballer who can read the flight of the ball and postions himself accordingly are coming to an end. |

Cite some precedent - name one incident where we were lucky. Archie gor (rightfully) pinged for an illegal spoil late in the 2nd, or early in the third. The Tigers got away with similar discretions at least five times after this. We were not umpired fairly tonight. The Whitnall rule is a f*cking disgrace. How can you be penalised for standing your f*cking ground? |

How can you be penalised for standing your f*cking ground? Ture, Whitnall's free was wrong. But a game of footy isn't determined by the umpires. For every free we should've got, at other times we should've hit targets or held marks. That's life. It ain't fair. Umpires, unlike moderators, never change their minds, no matter how much you argue...that's one thing I appreciate around here (generally) as opposed to the footy field. |

And if you play footy, that sort of thing is the last thing on your mind, especially because the umpires never change their minds...unlike...uh...oh...that's a positive agenda. ![]() |

We had one or two lucky goals from free kicks, will have to look at the tape to specify them. Umpiring was not the problem tonight. |

The only goal I can remember as a result of a free kick was when Fev got punched in the jaw by Hall. Even then I think he missed it. Umpiring wasn't the reason we lost, I agree with that, but it would be nice to get a reasonable game that isn't full of blatant inconsistencies. |

Considering the replay is on now, I can't be arsed watching because my arse is talking. And it says, "we didn't lose the game because of the umpires". Who knows? My arse may be wrong. It has never been before though. ![]() |

Plus every other game Carlton has played, since 196?...when did television start? You'll have a field day. |
