If he pulled out of the contest clowns like you would be calling him soft. Don't can the guy because the AFL tribunal is a joke. Most Carlton supporters applauded his effort in that contest. |

The Game, Frank is probably the single most respected poster on this site. I think he has earned a little more respect than to be called a "clown" from a guy whose role models are juiced up actors. Frank is absolutely right. Fev could have tackled Kirk last week and there wouldn't have been an issue. We all love Fev but everyone knows the rule and the stance the league has taken with respect to contact to the head. Yes the rule is applied inconsistently but why put yourself in the gun. |

If Fevola pulled up in that contest there would have been a dozen threads saying he doesn't put his body on the line, he doesn't make his presence felt like Hall or Brown. The ball was there and it was a lot fairer than Medhurst's hit the other week. For the record I've never heard of Frank or your good self but thanks for the history lesson on the site's respect. |

How the @#$%&! can you call Frank a Clown? One of the long time training watchers and well recognized and respected around the club. Agree or disagree with his opinion by all means, but don't go for the head!! About the worst thing you could say about the esteemed Mr. Dardew is that he couldn't beat Kouta in a race over 100 metres anymore. Thats only because his walking stick keeps getting stuck in the lush turf of PP. ![]() Lighten up TG. |

Yeah agree.. Frank is a gentleman on and off the boards. However, i reckon what Fev did was untidy but it didnt deserve a week. Id hate to see Fev running around like a pantsy its just not him. He has a big body and every now and again its in the clubs best interests that he uses it.. (inside the rules - i reckon he was unlucky if you look back at the Bentick incident earlier in the game. |

I take enough here to be allowed to dish it out every now and then. If you start a stupid thread criticising our best player who has been busting his guts so far this year I'll let you know about it. |

Could you do it without resorting to calling people clowns? I'm not sure it was intended with malice, but lets not take the chance on it being misinterpreted. Thanks. |

Myself and others have been called a lot worse but apparently some here are fair game so to speak. Thanks |

Ah... the old 'but he did it first, mum' argument. Actually, you shouldn't personally denigrate people because that's one of the conditions of this site. Yes, people do it regularly. And the site is all the worse for it. But because so many people lack the self-control to argue a point without including personal insults, it becomes almost impossible to stop it. It's not like the moderators here get paid to sit at the keyboard all day long and break up fights, like a primary teacher on playground duty. Surely people can be trusted to be civil to each other? Frank posted a reasoned argument which you didn't agree with. Plenty of others didn't agree with it either. Doesn't make Frank (or anyone who shares his opinion) a 'clown'. If you don't go throwing personal stuff like that into your responses, then you're in no danger of insulting a person who's much-admired (with good reason) by many, many people here. Frank didn't insult you, but you figured it's ok to insult him because... well, I'm really not sure exactly. |

Myself and others have been called a lot worse but apparently some here are fair game so to speak. Thanks Yeah. I didn't realise "clown" was such an insult. Yet, much worse is brushed aside like a pesky fly buzzing around your ears. The more things change, the more they stay the same. I wrote enough last week about how Fevola was perfectly fine doing what he did. He was the one making the play, soccered the ball forward and chased it. Then what was he to do? Run away like a child? Of course not!. He didn't leave the ground, didn't hit Kirk with a fist, elbow, shoulder, foot, knee or hip. Contacted him with his stomach/chest. Fevola did absolutely nothing wrong and should not be subjected to any ill feeling at all. Anyone questioning what happened should go back and have another look. |

So what exactly are the "runs on the board"? That comment is very poor. |

![]() It's all very well to waltz on here thinking it's BigFooty but that place is where people who have no self-respect and no regard for others go. There are some characters on TC who've been here since the very first TBV and who have earned respect by their insightful comments and ability to play the ball, not the man. I think some of these people should be given some respect, particularly Frank - who was the first regular training watcher to post regularly on TBV about training - which is what got a lot of the site traffic up IMO. People are allowed to have an opinion - but name calling etc is immature and just shows that one has nothing better to say. |

But, by that logic, no matter who signs up, unless they have "the runs on the board" they are fair game. Which is typical crap. Why don't you just behave a bit better from time to time Clem instead of having a go at some you have gripes with? ![]() |

BTW, does anyone know if Frank is actually insulted? Who the hell hasn't been called a clown? Some of the things posted here are way more insulting...calling someone a clown is playful...kind of like calling someone a cowboy. |

No not terribly insulted by clown but unfortunately does show people on this site love to attack the person rather than the argument ![]() I agree with Game on one point Fev if not our best player certainly is our matchwinner or influential player thats why he cant get himself suspended I also agree it was clumsy and he was unlucky but could have gone low rather than hit high and his pattern of conduct over the last 3 years means he will be outed for such conduct- Game - you will notice I have never criticised a player for lacking courage - have repeatedly since he started in 2000 supported strongly houlihan on this and other forums whilst others have described him in less than glowing terms People on this site and other sites know that I have always supported Fev unshakeably since I saw him in the first practice match against Collingwood over 6 years ago.I also supported him when Brittain and almost everyone else wanted to get rid of him .I have continued to appreciate his work rate skill and ability this year but he must play on the basis that he has an ordinary record with the tribunal and will be penalised for any minor infraction I want him to be a Carlton champion Game and he wont achieve that by sitting in the stands because of frivilous suspensions Thanks to everyone for their support Im going back to THE CIRCUS at Sunnyacres best regards Frank |

Runs on the board is credibility...respect earned by not playing the man but by debating the issues....Franks a seasoned veteran in all of those areas....every poster has their own style but the ones like Frank that play the ball deserve equal treatment in return....posters who want to be childish and name call then go play in the sandpit called big footy.com I'm dissapointed you found my comments very poor but thats your call... |

I find it poor because it's not based on any kind of equity, nor any real criteria other than your own opinion. If the runs on the board were stipulated as part of membership, fair enough, but until they are it's a subjective waste of time. |
