Ok so we've lost T-Bird for 8 weeks and Livo likely the season - where does that leave us?

Dennis suggested that Carlos might be in line to bolster the back half, obviously Karl will come in next week. Diggers was i thought in our best 5 today and Teague has shown that he can match up on a taller opponent.

If Carlos comes in where do we play him? Has apparently shown a bit in the magoos up forward, makes you wonder if he will be accountable enough at FB or CHB - If big DeLuca got burnt today, how will Carlos go?

Possible line up:

B: Hoops Karl Carlos
HB: Teague Digby Carazzo

Doc Larkins reported on MMM that It Livo will have scans tomorrow but the initial prognosis is ligament damage with a 1-3 week injury

Karl will get a run next week you'd reckon. Hopefully he grabs his opportunity with both hands. He showed quite a bit for us last year at certain times, so I'm happy that he's a likely inclusion for next week. However, I find it a bit odd that he's not already in the side, Pagan obviously has his reasons and I just hope that Karl does not take his probable promotion for granted.

Karl I reckon you're good enough, show us all how good you can be.

I guess the issue is - Is Carlos capable of holding down a key back position for the next couple of weeks - granted he is probably taking the 3rd best forward, but as we saw today how would he go against a Thompson type?

No doubt Carlos will be good, this will surely help his development, but i gotta admit im a tiny bit concerned... at least we have the bombers next week (Hennerman  )

B: Carrazzo - Norman - Teague
HB: Houlihan - Morrell - Lappin

If Setanta plays I think it is unfair to play him at CHB or FB. Maybe he can play in the forward line and release Waite to play CHB?
If Livo is only out for 1-3 weeks and T-Bird back in maybe 6 who can we place on the LTI list?

Denis sounded like Norman was a certainty to come in. Digby likely to have other key defensive role. Not sure how Setanta could get promoted unless Livo (or Walker, Thornton) are going to be out > 8 wks.

A more competitive and accountable midfield will do wonders for our backline structure.

Unless he played a miracle game in the vfl Setanta hasn't been showing the anticpation to play as a key backman, gets caught two metres behind each time. He is a forward option this year and maybe as a ruckman next year.

Karl will have to come into the side to hold down full back

Are we able to promote a rookie on the basis of Fishers LTI..

This would be my back 6 for next week....

B: Teague Karl Morrell
HB: Carazzo Bryan Houla

Sporn supposedly has a injury and i expect Lappin to play in the middle...
I think that if Carlos comes in, he will need to play up forward leaving Norman, Bryan and Morrell to play as tall backs...

Chris Bryan popped up for a possible ruck/defender role in another thread.

I feel that from what ive seen and heard (which isnt a lot) he might be worth naming on the bench for next week...

Thats it Ponkster, now ya get it.Thats were it all starts doesnt it buddy.Get those clearances to a 50/50 and our back and forward lines are perfectly fine.Libba,Mitchell and Elshaug, get onto it will you.The three of you were all onballers wernt you.Whats the matter fellas, game passing you by.Too many at the back of the pack waiting for a feed for mine.2 in,1 close, and the 3rd circling.Check out the cats and dees setups fellas and you might learn something. We do have a quality midfield, but apart from kouta, are not getting that all important 1st touch.Special mention to scooter coz he was half reasonable yesterday.
