Quote:
Carlton escaped more serious concern last night after X-rays cleared their prized recruit Josh Kennedy of a suspected broken jaw.

Kennedy, taken at pick four in the national draft, was injured in a VFL practice match between the Northern Bullants and Coburg.

The young key-position player was taken to hospital for X-rays which cleared him of any structural damage.

Carlton football manager Grant Williams said last night that Kennedy, who was playing only his second practice match after recovering from a shoulder injury, would be clear to play in the VFL next week.

Yes I would become suicidal If Kennedy become talentless overnight due to injury ala Livo.

Or Ian Aitken - he was recruit of the year in 1987 - until Alistair Clarkson broke his jaw in that "Battle of Britain" game at "The Oval" in 1987. He was never the same after that.

Good point.

Wasn't that a Clive Waterhouse' forearm (elbow) in a pre-season game as well (at Waverly Park).... demolished his jaw!! Poor Murray lost interest after that!!
