Kouta, Stevo, Lance, Frenchy, Lappo. There might be one other.

These gents were picked by their peers not the Coaches.

No theyre our leaders...

Thats why were where were at!!...

Thats my point...

Weakest leadership group of any club .

there is an obligation to PLAN for the future.. so as that kind of rubbish never happens again...

Its easy to see why were last and when we need something there is nothing anyone can do to stem the tide.

We better never not allow that scenario to happen ever again!!!...

Mr Cazz... i never want to see this balls up ever again.....

Thats all!!!

You address it by starting right now into the future with draftees and educating the kids.

Its no good having them learn from Kouta or Lance what a club leader is...

None of us do but if you look at history in many, many fields you'll find that every often a vaccuum is created around great leaders because they lead for so long and fill up so much space.

is this part of the Thomas reasoning?

I think it is safe to say CFC started the search for future leaders in November 2005.

All the draftees/rookies were either captains or in the leadership groups at their respective clubs.

Kind of like being a Carlton supporter rather than a critic.

Is Murphy ready to be appointed Captain?

Fevola and Waite should be putting their hands up for that group by now.

If they played for St Kilda they would be expected to be captains

Not everyone is leader material...Fev certainly isn't and he knows and admits it...Waite hasn't shown any ...yet...

As for St Kilda...just picking next in line doesn't a great Captain make.

We have few players who have been around a while (100 game mark)
Fevola and Houlihan fit into this category but dont strike me as leaders so we basically have to pick the old farts.

We do have the worst leadership group in the comp.No question.

I would have liked Waite and Bentick given some role in the leadership group. What is there to lose if you do.Conservative decision making at times has held the Blues back.

i reckon StKilda have a couyple of players who could easily captain that club.

Hamill is one..hed be our captain of he was still at the club.. regardless of his didgy calves.
Luke Ball is captaincy material and could be a CEO or a President of a footy club when hes done!!!

Kosi has the presence and the respect to lead a club.

Id love our club to have youth coming through of the ilk of some of those blokes at StKilda leadership wise.

I reckon Murphy is a great future captaincy candidate.

In the interstate championship when McInley was dumped and Murph ran 100 meters to strongly remonstate with the villain was an example!!!He didnt lose his cool.. he just came in and let the opposition player that he wasnt going to stand for that and he was on notice. All legal all legit and very responsible.

We need a few more of those types around the club.

Do not underestimate the value that a character like Murphy brings to a club on and off the field!!!...

Murphy has more leadership qualities in his little finger than most of those blokes put together....

Youll see....

You can be a supporter and a critic cos you care...

you can be a supporter and a bimbo cos youre hair is blonde...

you can be a supporter and dead cos youre in the box at your funeral.

You can be all kinds of supporter... just depends on you...
