My information is there are 3 that will stand against the club and by tomorrow afternoons deadline there are possibly another three. Which means there are possibly 6 vying for four positions. The current board are hoping there is minimal change. I reckon we need some fresh blood.(thats just my belief) Info will be put out on the new condidates from tomorrow. |

Fresh blood sounds good to me, especially if they are a bit younger. The current board has done a good job of righting the ship, but it is probably a good time now to bring in some younger people with new ideas to help us on the climb up again. Please please please if there are new people I hope they know something about the internet and how it can benefit the club. |

It is timely to get fresh blood into the board to make sure we build a future. I align Synbad with your consistent message of long term - it will take time to get it right on and off the field. Over the last two very 'short' years, i think the current board had done an acceptable job to keep us alive and afloat considering the issues it has to deal with in a very complex and emotionally charged environment. However, as we look at the years ahead, now is the time to make sure the mix of board members has superior (and not just acceptable) talent in the areas of marketing and revenue building. Who would they be? Sure we need a figure head or two, but we also need a couple of reasonably 'savvy' hungry business executives that have a blend of passion and hard core commercial street smarts. Hats off to Eddie and Collingwood in this area. It is no surprise that they have just added a lucrative McDonalds sponsorship to their impressive set of sponsors. From the day Eddie set foot in the job he mustered a varied group of hungry business men to build a much stronger franchise. What are the papers saying today? That Collingwood continues to prove itself as one of the most successful sporting brands in the country. What a great business opportunity it is to turn around the Carlton Football Club.......oh to be living in Melbourne. Most of all conviction, smarts and passion are required from whoever joins the board - and indeed from all supporters. |

Report in the Age this morning says three up for re-election: Chris Pavlou John Valmorbida (Sirena, Lavazza, Gino et al) Stephen Kernaghan. So only three spots for contesting? |

So only three spots for contesting? So maybe we can get his brother Lee on the Board - I think he is a one-eyed Carlton Supporter. Then we would have both kinds of supporters, "Country" & "Western". ![]() |

SEN this morning was saying that Marcus Clark I think, Ron Clark's son was going to stand. They also said something about the admin at CFC being frustrated by a 'leak' at board level. |

Probably not but he certainly has enough material to write one of those, "my wife left me for my best friend, took my dog, my football team sucks and I'm sitting here all disheartened wanting to hang myself" type Country & Western songs. ![]() |

Had a feeling it may have been Clarke given Synbad mentioned his name a few months back. |

Clarke is one... his paperwork is on its way. Vivienne Kerr is backing one guy i know nothing about . i think he is a lawyer too... Then there is another guy with an advertising background.who will be great.. and does some great work around the club. There are the three up for election (as mentioned)plus one of the two vacant spots. Sticks will be re elected no worries. That leaves 3 spots up for grabs . |
