Anyone remember when Essendon* had that tournament thingy that was designed to determine the greatest Bomber ever to play for Essendon*?

Reckon they should think about organising one for Carlton some time in the near future.

IIRC, Essendon* had a function for the business end of the tournament.

Who really cares which INDIVIDUAL was the best ever Carlton player!

Besides, there are far too many to choose from!

More importanly we should be considering the best ever TEAM that Carlton fielded or a team comprising of the best ever Carlton players.

Or even better, how about the team which is likely to be lifting the Premiership Cup in the not too distant future!

I have never seen better than Kenny Hunter, he was miraculous week after week.

Doull has to be mentioned.

Sticks and Jezza in the next bracket

I probably saw Diesel play some of the best games ever played in a Blues jumper too.

too hard

Carlton had 5 representatives in the AFL's Team of the Century (no other club had more than this) which was named in 1996 than any other club (not in any particular order);

- Alex Jesaulenko
- John Nicholls
- Bruce Doull
- Stephen Silvagni
- Greg Williams

I reckon you couldn't go wrong with any of those names yet look at the calibre of players that we have that didn't make the team:

- Stephen Kernahan
- Wayne Johnston
- Ken Hunter
- Craig Bradley

Is it any wonder that I reckon our Team of the Century could beat any other clubs Team of the Century hands down.

I dont think even "Footy Geek" could analyse that one, hey Jarusa.

Not to mention his sexy speaking voice.

It's a trick question really, though. Is it the greatest player to play for Carlton? In which case the answer is clearly Glenn Hawker.

Is it the most loyle, bleed Navy blue club man? Then the answer may very well be Aaron Hammill.........naaaah, give it to Wiggo!!!

Don't knock the Wiggler - you'll all be laughing out the other side of your faces when he wins his third consecutive brownlow in his record breaking 18th season.

Actually if Carlton is the greatest club of all time (which cannot be disputed historically or statistically) and Wiggo is the the greatest Carlton Player of all time (which cannot be disputed religiously or orthodontically)
then logically it would stand that Simon Wiggins is actually the greatest footballer of all time

The greatest blue ever? Navy Blue, of course!

Second best? Wiggins.

With my limited knowledge of past generations of Carlton players it would have to be Craig Bradley for me

Greatest player is too hard - what about who embodies the spirit of the club aka Glen Archer at the Kangas.

Again very difficult - mine is Stephen Silvagni. The quintessential blueblood with the highest individual accolades but also the ultimate team man.
