So when they don't arrive in time for the NAB Cup against Geelong should we be pissed then?
You bet! That's my deadline
Maybe I have been conditioned to accept this mediocrity over many years of similar laziness from the membership departments. The things is it happens across all clubs and even the AFL itself with all its financial might and whatnot.
Barnesy, you are right though, generally speaking the whole situation is deplorable and some improvements in these dept's could enhance the experience for the member and not leave so many feeling resentful and frustrated.
What annoys me about memberships is that for those that commit their hard-earned to buy one, they aren't even guaranteed a seat at a GF if their team should get there. I would even be prepared to pay a reasonable premium in addition to my membership to guarantee this spot. I think it is totally unacceptable that come GF day there are members that miss out in a stadium that holds 100K, because the ticket allocation is always a (pathetic) percentage of the membership base for that club.
If the greedy rats at AFL (and even at club level) actually gave a stuff about the member, they wouldn't flog off so many seats to sponsors and more annoyingly, as packages for people willing to pay exorbitant sums. Members missing out on GF's is a crime in my eyes.
That's one reason why I switched to an AFL membership. Too many people I know can get to go year in, year out with this membership once you become a full member. For the 1993, 1995 and 1999 GF, I had to go through hell to get a ticket and only once did I acquire it as a member. Twice I had to deal with private ticketing companies to get a ticket and had to pay well above face value.
