watching rounds 14-21 of 1979 on Fox, and the indelible image is Vinnie, legs, pumping, hair unmoving, straightening up at the Heatley Stand end, and kicking a goal!!!!

What a team.... Maclure: awesome, Buckley: damaging, Harmes: brutal, Doull: sublime!

and yet it's the run of Vinnie to finish it off (inevitably) that marks each game.

Shit, eh ......memories.......

And Vinnie couldn't even crack it for a game in the Grand Final that year.

Truly 1979 is underated as one of the greatest sides of all time (no thanks to Tom Prior :roll: ).

Here is a team that only lost 3 games all year - by a total margin of of 29 points - finished on top of the ladder by a clear margin of 2 games and 16%, and as I recalled kicked 100 points or more in 22 of their 24 matches.

Not too bad methinks. :wink:
