Stevens did exactly the same thing at Port, so it would be rather hypocritical of him to say anything to the contrary.

No, Stevens wanted to return to the state that he grew up in and had all his family and friends in.

Campo didn't.

Walking out is walking out. Stevens had his reasons. Camporeale had his. They're exactly the same.

Stevens actually wanted too return not too Victoria but Collingwood I am lead too believe. Doesn't mean that he didn't want too return too Victoria or his friends.

If he had know he was going too end up at Carlton or any other club, I dare say he may have been inclined too stay at Port. He had burnt his bridges too much at Port by then and had too go.

Campo = sooking over coach asking him to be accountable + cash
Stevens = returning to home state

All three took off on their club. You can apply any sort of "virtuous" criteria you want, but at the end of the day they all did exactly the same thing, and whatever their reasons, that will never change.

If Stevens was to complain he would be the biggest hypocrite running around.

Luckily he didn't. Good on him for that at least.

Returning home is a completely different kettle of fish. I never begrudged Troy Bond returning home.

Hamill and Campo however have spat in the face of the club that gave them their chance. Nathan Brown falls into this category too.

Returning home is perhaps the weakest excuse of the lot. After a club has recruited a player, accommodated a player and developed their football career, the player turns their back on all that support, normally at the peak of their career, and spit in the face of the club that gave them their chance at AFL.

It's as weak as piss.

Footy is meant to be a man's game, not a game where boys run home to mummy the minute they get homesick.

May have to agree to disagree here.

Cash is the piss poorest excuse for mine. Just after 'the president called me a name' or 'the coach wants me to do stuff'.

I don't like the cash excuse either, as the AFL has become a weird amalgamation of industry and recreation, breeding a culture of every player looking out for number 1 financially. Well, why wouldn't you? That is the way the rest of the world works unfortunately.

Players have been swapping clubs for eons.

It's actually no big deal for me...it happened before I was born, a la Barassi, and it will happen long after I'm gone.

Some are 1 Club players, some are not.

Any bets on how many Clubs Judd will play for?

Leppitsch will only play for 1.

That's just the way it is.

No right or wrong...some choose to change some stay the same...life goes on.
