Feel vindicated after reading Libba's comment's.Mentioned Fevola after attending training last week.To me,Fev looked a long way from being right. It was so obvious that you could not help but notice.Bit of a sugar coater myself, but if you couldnt see that Fev was RS then you would have been wearing extremely bright rose coloured glasses. But despite my pessisism re Fev,he has time on his side.By the same token,he wouldnt want to have any hiccups between now and round one.

Not sure how Libba's comments - "He still has a lot of work to do, but he is running. He knows he is a fair way off the ball and he has a lot of work to do before he starts playing footy again" vindicated your alarmist thread last week.

No-one is disputing that Fev is underdone - he just has a long way to go until he catches up to where he needs to be - hence the many miles of straight-line running the club is currently putting him through. Your inference last week that Fev's groin is struggling with the workload & he is being handled wrongly by the club's rehab staff is misguided.

Split hairs if you want Lucablue. He clearly aint right pal.And if you reckon the staff are on the ball with Fev then i wonder big time about your power of logic.Mate,if they were on the ball, then he would have been in SrVincent's last Augest when it was clear to every man and his dog that he was ratshit. How the bloody hell do you call that alarmist.I call it reality.I might be a sugar coater buddy, but i aint got my head in the sand.

Mickstar I can't blame ya for being concerned with the club's medicos after the Fev fiasco last year. I've lost all faith in them too.

Gotta agree why was the surgery on his groin held off to pre season bad error of judgement. All u have to do is look at Rocca flying around the track and ready to go for proof. Instead we have a guy that is a good 6 weeks behind ev1 else.

Whose call is it regarding surgery? Isn't the player within his rights to either undertake or refuse surgery? Do we know whether it was the club or Fev who made the decision to defer surgery in the hope that the problem would resolve without surgery?

Hope he can be ready for Round 1, but it wouldn't bother me if he wasn't. We need him fully fit, not buggering around like last year.

Makes you wonder somewhat about the communication between some of these guys and the medicos (and the coaching staff). Hope they remember they can talk to each other sometimes.

He had one at the end of last year but told us at training; "it's got to go 'cos it makes me look like a terrorist"

Looks like he's grown it again; I think it looks pox.

Well Fevolas track record of using his brains and being smart is very limited imo.
Club & medico's should've been smarter and acted much quicker and insisted on medical treatment. If Fevola refused medical advice he should not have been selected to play.

Not questioning the medicos in general "TG".Someone pointed out that our soft tissue injury last year was the best in the comp, and for that they must be given due credit.Just reckon the Fev case was a fiasco, and that is allowing for the fact that Fev may have not helped himself.

I do not disagree that he played on too long last year, but I disagree with your call that he's being handled wrongly NOW. Let's forget about last year & focus on his pre-season to date. Yes he was behind schedule, but the rehab staff have given him the required time off & he is now getting the kilometres into his legs. If that is "head in the sand"stuff, well fair enough - I suppose the proof will be in how he plays during the first 4 weeks of the "real stuff".

We aint that far apart then Luca.Just want to reiterate that the day i attended training it was pelting down and the place was like a skating rink. And in racing terms he was 'crabbing'.Just one slip mate and he would have stretched that groin into next year.Driving that bloke so hard on a treacherous surface like that looked plain ridiculous in light of the nature of his injury.Groins are notoriously tricky and all precautions should have been the order of the day.Anyhow pal, either way,it seems his recovery is on track and he's looking a fair chance for round one.

The proof will be in the pudding. My bet is that he will have an interrupted season and kick 40-50 goals again this year. We'll find other avenues to goal through Waite, Fish or Setanta and then be talking trade bait again come October. I'd like to be proved wrong, but I don't feel that Fev has the brains to listen to what his body is telling him.

Saw Fev on the news last night at Elwood beach with the team, looking strange with his short red hair.

He said he was feeling great and busting to get into it.

He sure looks fit and ready to go; as did Lance.

Fevola looks fit and hulky in the pic in the sun.I would even give him a few games in the magoos if he doesnt play any pre season games so he goes into the seniors with some game time under his belt.
