I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me what has happened to Wes Lofts? We all hear about big Jack, but Wes - who served the club for a long time just doesn't get a mention...so what's he up to these days?

Sorry - was after an actual answer here. You might not like the guy, but he did a great deal for the Blues including being a premiership player so lets not forget the good things people do. Someone must know where he is and what he's up to ...does he attend any games ever?

I did business with Wes Lofts in the late 60's thru the 70's when he traded as Wes Lofts Packaging Supplies in West Melbourne....a successful business at the time....

Geoff Leek was a salesman for him in those days.

Other than quiting the darts, Wes hasn't changed much. He is still very much a Carlton man and attends the majority of Melbounre based games, a lot of the time with Jack and the other old boys.

Still lives in town and maintains a very keen interest in the blues on field performance.

If you look at the Grand Finals of 81 & 82 the person sitting next to David Parkin in the coaches box is Wes Lofts (actually I think its the only person sitting in the coaches box with him). Wes had a greatly exaggerated reputation as a "tough player" in the 60's. But he basically ran the football dept in the 80s and whilst an Elliott man in the main had the club's interests at heart.

Met Wes a few years ago as a tutor to his son. Son was a big lump of a guy.

The Wes Lofts in that APRA post is the Carlton Wes Lofts.

I do recall that Wes did have some legal problems to do with a superannuation fund and the use of super fund assets a few years back. Was in the news at the time.
