Post subject:  The Big Questions for Carlton in 2006

With each new season come a whole new set of expectations and big issues that we all focus on. Of course we all have different expectations and questions, and watch eagerly as they pan out over a season.

So what are the big questions of 2006? Generally the biggest question is whether your team will make the finals, and what chance are they of winning the premiership, but to my mind 2006 is a very different year (no kidding!) with a whole new set of questions. My top 5 are below:

1. Which 2005 draftee will have the biggest impact in 2006?
2. What impact will Marc Murphy have in his debut year?
3. Can Fevola turn it around in 2006 and come back to 2003/2004 form without the tantrums?
4. Will Whitnall play as a forward, and make it as a forward, in 2006, or is he now a defender?
5. How many games will Setanta play, and what impact will he have?

What are yours?

Don't want answers Game, the season will answer that. I want your questions -- what are you looking out for in 2006?

Sorry misread it.

1. Can Houla get back to 2004 form?
2. Will Waite take another step forward to become a very good player?
3. Can Carrazzo and Simpson continue to improve?

The main thing i cant wait to see is Fevola. Which is practically the same question you had molsey.

1. How will Marc Murphy go in his debut year?
2. Will our defence be stronger will the inclusions of Bower, Saddington etc?

Q1..Which of Bryan and Deluca will establish themselves...the one who doesnt will be cut?...

Q2..Livo...will he establish himself?

Q3..Is Marc Murphy as good as everyone thinks....will he impact like Ball,Cooney, Judd etc?..appears Denis is expecting plenty.

Q4..Lance...can he impact in any position to the tune of 400K per year...?

Q5..Denis Pagan...will he continue rebuilding regardless of results or will he be results driven to keep his job, avoid media pressure and avoid another spoon..

Q6..Captain material..is there anyone capable of leading the players after Kouta gives the captains job away or has it stripped from him.

1. How will the kids assert themselves in a team that is quite heavily youth-dominated?

2. How much of an effect was Camporeale and Lappin and Whitnall's contract stand-offs an effect on the playing group last year?

3. Which of the younger players will take the next step and establish themselves as core members of our best 22?

4. How will Pagan coach this new, more characterful side? Will he give them more flexibility or continue to place an iron rod over the side?

5. Will Whitnall provide value to us?

Will the poor form of last year be proved an aberration for Lappin. Now that the contract issue is over I'm hoping he plays his best football again.

Also like Elwood I'm interested in Livo's continued progression.

You could throw potato scallops at both of them.

I'm really hoping that Russell, Hartlett & Blackwell can step up at some stage and Walker can fulfill his potential.

Will Archie regain the promising form of 2004 after the injuries that set him right back in 2005?

I'm hoping for improved fitness from him and some skills improvement gained from Gary Dempsey.
