Get prepared for some more bad news for the Blues.
I've just done the Luck Ladder for 2005.
Basically this ladder indicates how lucky each team has been during the year. It does this by adding up the ladder position of each opponent for each week, i.e. if we play Essendon* in round 6 who are 12th and then Adelaide next round who are 4th in that round then the 'score' is 12+4 and so on through the season. The team with the highest score at the end of the season has played the weakest teams in the competition on a consistant basis.
The luckiest team for 2005 was CARLTON.
Amazingly we played a team that was in the top 8 only 6 times during the year.
This is bad news because it meanseven though we had the best run of playing weaker teams we still managed to finish last.
The unluckiest team was Collingwood, so in theory if they get a better run next year they can expect to finish higher on the ladder next year.
The table is below, first column is each teams 'luck', next one is the number of times each team played a team in the top four and the next to that is the number of times each team player a team in the top 8.
