I've typically bee a supporter of Campo over the past couple of years when he has copped heaps here, I reckon (money/greed aside) he has been a terrific servant of the club.

However like evryone else I'm pissed off with the way he's been over the re-signing and I am resigend to the fact that he is gone, and for nothing.

I recently clicked on his bio on the CFC website, and after reading it, I'm probably even more hurt at what has happened.

Would the other senior players still want Campo on the list?

THE FINE PRINT...
With more support in the midfield, Camporeale was back to his brilliant best in 2004, playing all 22 games, averaging 20 disposals a game and finishing fourth in the best and fairest. Appointed vice-captain, he led the Blues in tackles (76), underlining the hardness and desperation he showed as a senior player and leader keen to resurrect his club's fortunes. Is now a 10-year AFL player - he celebrated his 200th game last year - and at 29 still has plenty to offer.
Finished 4th in the John Nicholls Medal (Carlton Best & Fairest Award).

Games: 212 Goals: 192

Draft history: 1994 National AFL Draft 1st round selection (Carlton) No. 15 overall.

PLAYER HONORS
Player honours: best and fairest 2000 (equal); All-Australian 2000; International Rules Series 1998, 1999; AFL Rising Star nominee 1995; premiership side 1995; pre-season premiership side 1997.

SEASON MATCH STATS
Brownlow Medal: 2004 votes 9; career votes 49.

Nick Stevens will miss Campo more than any other player in the side.

Campo played a fair bit of the year in the back pocket. How will Stevens miss him most?

Well i for starters will only have half the material to run with next year.. but im sure the BomberBlitz site will start picking up the internet traffic slack....

And yes we will miss his cries to handball as he runs past another kid.. and just bugger it up..
Most of all we will miss his willingness to roll his sleeves up when the going gets tough.....

Well its all tough right now Surrey and he doesnt want to be here.. he said thanks for his millions.. his easy possessions and his premiership and he has shitted on each and every one of us.. but youre probably into scat...

I really dont reckon any single player in the history of the AFL has had it as easy as Campo for as long as Campo...
Premiership year one
Heaps of money
Ratten Williams Brown shovelling the ball out for him... Bradley got the best tagger for the outside players...
Contacts for his career outside of footy.....

Geeeez that guy has no shame!!!

Biut it was obvious from the way he played he had no shame....

Your are right Synbad but he still took one of the oppositions best taggers every week. Someone else will cop that tagger now. thats where he will be missed. One of our up and comming youngsters game is going to suffer because the tagger that took Campo will take them ot Stevens

I think Campo only took the tag because he couldnt handle them.. which meant we were playing with three through the midfield while Campo was fighting his own personal batteles out there...

In fact i believe that we looked better without Campo in the midfield... he was unaccountable.. (nothing to do with a tagger).. his opponent ran off him and same with Kouta)...
Taking the best tagger... should have been natural for a guy on Campos wage.. and yes we paid him the money!!!.. but Campo told the club he was worth it... of course we now know Campo was a good player ina good team when he was allowed to do as he liked.. but was a very ordinary player when the spotlight was thrust on him.. because he was really a second tier footballer who was made to look good by those around him.

Like has been said will be a despised player for both clubs he played for...
Essendon* are a crap side too... Sheedy and Campo havent realised it yet.. but they will...

Denis said he took Campo out of the midfield because he didnt have the legs anymore... Sheedy arrogantly took him for legs...

Ill just have a giggle as like cholesterol; he clogs up their arteries and gives them a heartattack...

We wont miss Campo....

Its avtually a shame we wernt competent enough to land a good midfielder in the psd.... McLaren is a nil nil draw for us...

Hopefully someone who doesn't crumble under the pressure and start throwing jabs in the guts and elbows to the face.

Campo = Chocolate Soldier. (no that's not a sexual term... )

The Fine print on Campo: Piss off, and never, ever, ever come back

I'd like to compare Campo and Akermanis next year. Both players are around the same age and probably have the same amount of years left in their career. Akermanis is working hard in the off-season by training and competing in road cycling events. I am not sure what Campo is doing, but I bet it is not that. So they are similar ages and similar types of players being midfielders that are past their best. Let's see how they compare in these critical final years.

Yes. I too doubt Camporeale will be joining that race.

I'd be disappointed if Matty Lappin doesn't give it a go though.

I think you'd have to be training for a while to do it. 750k is a long way. That is about 3 1/2 Around the Bay's.
