Christabelle Williams a proud and passionate Carlton supporter will be laid to rest today. Her coffin will be carried into the church to the tune of the club song and placed under hanging Carlton and Aboriginal flags. Christabelle did not have any favourite players, they were all her 'boys' and she loved them dearly. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. *A special thank you to the Carlton Football for the kind donation and use of the Carlton Club flag. |

BM - I used to drink at the Napier Hotel in Fitzroy in the early 90's - is this the same Christabelle? That is sad news. |

Most likely Womack Shiek, Christabelle was just an ordinary supporter who loved the Blues passionately. She had a pretty troubled and difficult life, but she always up for a chat about 'her' boys. In all of my conversation with her about Carlton she was never once negetative about the team or the club. In her case her love for the club was unconditional. As a client she was a handful, smashing a windscreen on my car once and in one infamous case trying to burn down our building. Yet somehow I couldn't stay mad at her for very long. The next day she would front up, burst into tears and want a hug. I am gong to miss her and the attendence at the service will be massive. And yes I am going in my Carlton gear and the song will be sung. Just as she wanted. |

Reminds me of when my friend died earlier this year. 1800 people singing the Geelong theme song at the Brisbane town hall. |

That would be unfortunate if he was a Carlton supporter ![]() Farewell Christabelle, In heaven every year is a Flag year. |

An fantastic service, very dignified. Lots of stories, flowers and tributes. The coffin looked magnificent between the two flags, there was a small change in the running order Christabelle was carried out to the sounds of the club song and several dozen Blue and White ballons were released as she was driven away. Got the entire service on tape which will be sent to her mob in WA once I get it transfered to disc. |
