As I was walking semi-pissed and with a rather content stomach from CK's place (he cooked!!!), it dawned on me that this game should be something special.

We should be playing FOR something when we play Collingwood.....

... some kinda cup..... some reward... something that we can gloat about or cherish as a holy grail if they have it.....

.... something that represents the recency of the internet.... something that represents a convergence of our 2 clubs....

.... so.... with that in mind..... i propose.....

THE BRENT TUCKEY CUP!!!!!!!

whaddya think?

Hold on to your horses, FireArm Fev makes his long awaited return to the footy team. We were talking about you against SS.

If you play anything like your last game, we're going to look good.

This is going to be a great game, I think we need a repeat of rd18 2002

Oh and unlike rd3 this year, you wont be getting every free kick going your way from all umpires :P

We are going alright for numbers, obviously a bit behind the huge numbers here but obviously you guys play reguarly, hopefully once we get started we will be able to pull out a good sized squad quickly, still time for us though

Anyway, seeing as you guys do play reguarly, what sort of numbers do you suggest we should aim for? Obviously from experience on how many usually pull out or whatever and how many bench players you may need, hopefully you can give us some pointers, cheers

Used to have a very small tipping competition with a couple of friends and each year on grand final day a trophy would be presented to the winner to have pride of place in their house for a year.

The trophy was a plastic beer jug.

Had inscriptions of each years winner on it as well.

Beer jugs make good trophies.

I also just need a huge favour from someone.

Anyone coming that has a boombox type stereo at home, that doesn't require electricity, PLEASE bring it along.

I think a few of you know what for.

bring along about 15 blokes....that should be enough :P

no, seriously, I don't think we've ever played with a bench, but our goal is obviously to have one (especially in the middle of december!!), and its hard to predict how many will actually show up.

We've had an awesome response this time, so we hope we will have a bench....

.. my own advice would be to let anyone and everyone nominate, just to accomodate the no-shows... then, if you get 30 show up to play, thats when it can become tricky for you to manage. But its a better problem to have too many than too few.

But, if you do get 30 people show up, just make sure there aren't more than 18 on the park at the same time!!! 8)

I've given Cammo the all clear to do whatever he wants with the side on match day. Since he won't be playing and will be the Super Coach for the day, what he says goes. He'll be ringing the changes when he feels it is necessary and coming up with a team on match day.

Might see who I can round up as a runner so it makes Cam's job easier. So if you have to come off, do so as quickly as possible and with little fuss. I imagine it'll be quite hot so I'm sure Cam will be changing people on and off the bench quite regularly.

Oh and btw - good to have you back on board, FireArmFevs.
I reckon you might slot in nicely into the forward pocket left vacant by Cammo.

I'm not getting too far ahead of ourselves just yet.

I thought we would have a killer time against Saintsational, but look what happened there. This is why I think Cammo not announcing the team before the game is a good idea and gives him until the death knock to tally up the ins and announce it from there.

If 80% of the blokes on that list turn up, I'll be happy.

I've already counted about 21 blokes who I believe will stay true to their word and, injury and other stuff pending, will show up on the day.

You can tell if there is more than 18 vs. 18 on the field without doing a head count.

The ground looks fairly crowded when this happens.

spot on... don't worry Collingwood-dude... we've been burnt by this in the past... we'll be red-hot on anyone outside the 18 on the park!!!!!!!!

18 vs 18 is a minimum criteria to play, I reckon

... not that we don't trust ya mate.. I mean.. you're a good honest Collingwood man.....

:?

besides, this is Carlton v Collingwood.... this is a whole new level of hatred, and a whole new level of respect.

We should honour the contest by playing with the highest degree of sportsmanship, and let even-performances tell the tale... you know... like in 1970, 1979.... should i go on??? :P

There weren't 20 players on the park when Wayne Harmes tapped that ball...... and there won't be in this game

thats what Carlton people call "respect"... we want to beat your arses the old fashioned way...... with 18 players completely committed..... or else its not a victory at all

If you talk to some Collingwood supporters, the streamers on the ground was the extra man.

Pumped for the match, Lucas?
