Post subject:  List Lodgement (1) – Monday October 31st

Information required:

•Maximum 35 players
•Rookie Promotions
•Father/Son drafts
•Second Year Rookies

We currently have 33 players on the senior list with 4 rookies.
http://carltonfc.com.au/default.asp?pg= ... =browseall

We have to clear some space on the senior list for (probably at least) 4 ND picks, at least 1 rookie promotion and at least 1 PSD pick.

Who and how many players will be shown the door this coming Monday?

McGrath is far better than some of the players we have on our list.

Bannister and Chambers are names that spring to mind.

By the way Deluca is not shit..... The guy is fantastic below his feet for a big guy and actually quite agile. Give him a chance, as his injury is still not right at the moment. Although we probably should of signed him for only 1 year instead of 2. But he is not a ruckman. Not sure what his best position is yet. I reckon try him and Bryan down back. We need to try some bizarre things in the practice matches I think.

I think we have tried DeLuca down back and it failed. I rate DeLuca too, Fevola, and I feel he needs to get over his injuries properly for him to fully shine. Was playing alright football before he got injured.

If there is one criticism I have of him it's that he doesn't hold on to the pill when going for the grab. Hopefully TD can help him out with this problem.

BTW I saw Fabian on Saturday. Big unit!

I'm a DeLuca fan too. Maybe they should do some extensive tests on his eyes...do you reckon that would be common place? There is really no reason he should drop marks so often...I'ts strange.

I can't find a reason for it either.

Perhaps he genuinely has the football disease "butter fingers".

The only that I can think of that might explain it would be that he might be placing his hands on the ball in the wrong manner so when the ball makes contact with his hands it just bounces off.

I dunno.

Good sauce on this one...

Fabian rubs it into Adrian every time they see each other as to the state of carlton's ground, rooms, training facilities etc. its all good natured but geesh, can you imagine the guys out there on the field and someone bags you out for where you train? Underclass of football!

The ground surface at OO is easily one of the best in the AFL.
Granted we don't play on it anymore, but it always looks a picture.

Should have been more specific - stands, training facilities. Apparently Fabian rolled with laughter when he rolled up and saw Adrian cooling down in an ice bath in a wheelie bin.

Yes I am sure Fabian would rather be playing in Victoria rather than the SAFL. Given the chance he would of come and played with our so called shit facilities I reckon. C'mon guys I am sure we don't have it that bad. Imagine playing for that psycho Mark Williams (enough said).........

Not neccessarily a huge DeLuca fan, but what gives me hope is that most big men DO seem to develop later, playing their best footy when midfielders of the same age are in decline (or retirement). When Barney first came across he was (around) 25 and an absolute 'blonk'. Couldn't mark a slow moving balloon. A hell of a lot more co-ordinated these days, wouldn't you say?

Like I said, not a 'huge' DeLuca fan, but what I do like is that he moves pretty well, excellent below his knees, good kick and even if he doesn't hold onto them (yet?), he generally manages get his mits on the ball, which is half the battle.

A bit more muscle, hold the marks and he could yet be a very good player. We can only hope that it clicks in the coming years.

Then of course, there is the 'bizarro-big man', McKernan. :? Awesome early, but as time went on he couldn't mark the dunny with three arseholes.

I think he could be quite good at CHF.

While we would like him to bring down the mark and hold on to it, because we have a few small running types if the ball drops to the deck in Pagan's Paddock, we have the smalls running through and moving it forward on to goal.

The dirty water in that wheelie bin is still more potable than the dishwater Fabian's drinking in S.A!
