What's your fave of all time?

I just can't go past Buzz's hanger against Geelong in the pocket - it just has everything.

SOS's over Starcevich. Lappin's on debut was a ripper too.

I remember this mark Jezza took (he took a couple did Jezza) where he flew in the middle of a pack - think it was against Fitzroy but hell i was probably pissed - anyway he flew up in the middle of this pack and then the pack sort of fell apart like a game of pickle sticks (is that the name, oh God i'm getting old and fuzzy!) every player fell down in a tangle of arms and legs except for Jezza, like a cat he landed on his feet, turned before anyone could blink and was off running towards goal. Oh God i miss Jezza!

Jezza was just the ultimate. Balanced. With Williams it was his hands, Big Nicxk his brains/skill, Hunter courage, SOS madness and abiulity to read the flight but Jezza was by the far the most balanced player I ever saw.

The Buzz against Geelong, because I was there for that one (near the pocket in what was then the 'hawthorn' stand).

And just about every one of Kenny Hunter's suicidal marks - shit, I loved watching Kenny play.

Unfortunately I only caught the tail-end of Jezza's career, so not much joy there.

SOS was great fun before he got serious and stopped taking hangers.

But the Buzz - a very, very apt nickname

(ahh - footy was better then... so innocent...)

Buzz is my fav.

But there was a mark by Harmes cannot remember the game exactly, might have been a final or a grand final.

It was quite a big pack and Harmes came from behind the pack and seemed to jump 'through' the pack to take a great high mark with two hand outstretched in front of his face. It was just such a strong looking mark, I remember thinking at the time that he must be a he-man.

they never played for carlton but shit i used to love wathcing Royce hart mark for Richmond, and Big Carl as a kid, that blond hair flying. Those two were great marks when i was a kid, not as good as any carlton player of course!

That mark you are referring to (i think by the sound of it) was in the 1981 grand final - third quarter.

Harmesy took some beauties. There was one match back in 78 where he took something like 15 marks in a game.
True genius.

no one has mentioned sos's from 88 against collingwood.

dannyboy, gotta love that mark you mentioned of jezza. the one i like of his i call the surfing mark. he surfed through the bodies and sort of floated on top of them for a bit longer than normal. i think it is in sensational 70's video or one of the videos on great marks?

Yes he had a habit of being able to float above the chaos of another collapsing pack.

Those in the know

Will tell you as will I that the BUZ took a better mark than the one against Geelong the same year in a practise game at Glenferrie Oval!
