Well I went to international rules game at Subi tonight but was happier after the game when I got to rub shoulders with the Aussie side.
First cab off the rank was Lappo. Having been away in Europe during the season(believe it or not the Wizzer Cup was the last game I watched before leaving) I asked what had gone wrong and to tell me it wasn't true that he was out of here.
He played with a straight bat but did say: 1)There was no possible way campo would stay. 2) No to the rumour that Sheedy was planning on doing the dirty and recruiting him instead. 3) Wouldn't go into his dispute with the club but indicated that it would all be sorted out.

Had a very brief chat with Waitey. Very upbeat guy, happy to be part of the squad and hopes to get a run next week. When asked what the F**k happened during the year he said well at least we cant go any worse next year but is looking forward to seeing who we get in the draft.

Last guy I chatted to was Kevin Sheehan who seemed to think that we would pick Murphy at 1. Asked him about Dowler with regards to the accident and he was shattered for the kid and thinks that clubs will leave him til next year to assesss recovery. He thinks that Ryder is probably the best KPP in the draft this year. Clark is a partty boy, but Grant, Giansiracusa, Delidio, McLeod, Davey, etc were all having a great time nearby and KS said they all loved to party but were also prepared to do the work required to reach the levels they have.

Must say it was so obvious that picking a side for speed suited to play the composite game was made crystal clear when seeing Jim Stynes towering over the side by a good foot or so except for Fletcher. An electric quick game and it is a great spectacle. As Molly would say..."do yourself a favour" and get along next week.

#10 over and out.

interesting that Lappin would play.

No contract with Carlton, currently in limbo.

What happens if he got a long term injury, could really stuff up his career.

Big calculated risk.

I still respect Lappin as a bloke and a footballer, really hope common sense from both parties prevails.
Losing this guy for nothing is crazy, when Ted Richards buys a first rounder.
Cheers tener.
