I love the quote about mates sticking together through thick and thin. If the Club allows this guy to ever re-enter in any official capacity, I will run down Royal Parade personally. What a selfish and righteous piece of dung.

"I was disappointed with what happened during the contract negotiations with Carlton but it is not purely a financial decision. Carlton has given me a lot, I realise that, but it is definitely not a money decision, it is more enjoyment and peace of mind and a fresh start."

So why are you leaving then? A fresh start in another bottom four side getting cheap kicks on the HBF for less money than Carlton offered you? :garthp:

Forgive my cynicism if it's because you can't stand up or lead this team like a highly paid senior player should.

I'm sorry.....when did Sticks, Earl & Co pass away? Was the '95 cup a bit like Tutankhamun's tomb and is killing them off one by one?

No, it's apparently that long ago that the remaining players are like the remaining Anzacs.

Shame Campo couldn't learn a bit from them.

ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ........

Nothing about what we should do about getting the Club out of the hole partly created by the exorbitant sums paid to the like of Campo.

It is increasingly obvious, that the sooner we are clear of the remnants of those who are not in it for the long haul, the better!

Now I'm confused :? What was it all about then?

"I know that if we had to go through another year like we had been through the last couple of years, I would have retired at the end of the year because I had just had a gutful, pretty much," he said

Aaaahhh, now I see...the team wasn't winning, so he thought he would just quit!

While it is natural for a player to have a closer bond with a premiership coach than one with whom you received two wooden spoons, it is clear the Camporeale-Pagan relationship was not as close. Parkin is a wedding guest, Pagan is not.

Where did Denis pick up his first spoon.....I thought Wayne Brittain was coach at the time.....
But I have to make a decision that is best for me and my family and my peace of mind and I think I had to make the move.
Peace of mind.....Piece of cash???? I thought you loved us Scotty??

We had our moments, but now, It's just gonna be another messy divorce!!

A decision process that shows him up to be mentally soft. He's leaving because it's all gotten too hard - kind of like a parent who splits from their partner and 18month old baby because it all got too hard.

Campo = weak. Good riddance. Let Essendon*'s kids learn from him, not ours.

Maybe Campo should read the Nathan BUckley interview from the other day on how a true clubman handles the situation. Your a wanker Campo!!

That article should be placed on the wall in the Carlton change rooms. It ranks as one of the most selfish, self serving and least team oriented interviews a player has given. Anyone that feels the same can sign on to be traded next year.

After reading that, any ounce of regret over losing Campo for nothing has disappeared.

Mrs Caz' quote says it all. He didnt dispute the length or the size of the contract , he just didnt sign it. Give me a break you cauliflower. Its all about the money for you, asshole. Can someone let campo know that Cuba Goodings character in Jerry Maguire was a send up, not a role model

"They understand where I come from and they have been involved in the club and know the way things have been run and handled, so they are well aware of it all and understand."

Let's hope this comment is not accurate.

If people are still wondering why we are as shit as we have been... and why some people wanted a line drawn through a few names to start again.. thats a bit of an insight just there.

Unfortunately a couple still remain and one guy who doesnt deserve it will be a victim of this selfishness and probably will be playing at another recent wooden spoon team next year.

Agree BV that the quote about the players understanding was the one that pricked my ears. I guess now people that have been so hard on Synbad can understand why he has been so disgusted with these blokes bleeding the Club dry. You see players at other clubs turning their back to hundreds of thousands of dollars from rival clubs and then you have our team leaders who continue to think that the Club owes them. Campo has such inflated sense of himself, he doesn't know how stupid he sounds. It is easy to become disenfranchised with sport sometimes when supporters appear to care more about the welfare of the Club than the players.

Played his footy in the same way as he lives his life.
He had a premiership handed to him on a platter in his first year.
He was prtotected by senior players in the midfield and on the ground and handed his posessions on a platter.
He has been given squillions of dollars by the club.
He has been handed a career in printing on a platter.

He chased the cheap kicks on the field.

Im not sad hes gone.. as a matter of fact he should have his name scratched off the locker and the honour board.

A selfish scumbag.

He thought the club should offer him 400k..

Spewing he captained club.

still a couple more around the club... and with one its a case of current self inflicted.

I'd just like to add, that more than once here and on TBV I got into heated discussions with various posters defending Campo.

I think you may have been one of them Synbad.

Thanks Synbad and anyone else I may have argued with for fighting so hard to get us the truth. I may not always like the way you post Synbad, but I have the utmost respect for the passion that you have for the hallowed monogram.

I guess that was my pissweak way of apologising. :)

Shame shame shame ... well thats one more bit of cancer cut out of the club ...agreed all his comments where directed for himself about how the Blues struggled and the club becoming more of a business and trying to get it self back to on track. I dont even think it was the year of the contract i think it was the ammount he asked for that he rejected over 400k. But a couple of comments he made...... He thought Fev or lappin would be all traded out well none did was gonna be hard to trade you when sheedy put PSD in yer head Campo over that 2 hour meeting.
Instead of bein at Fevs meeting he was sitting in the car outside Optus if not PSd he may get traded. To get other players into the club Campo senior players and teams make decisions to assist the club in attracting players and sacrificing something for future team success very hard when 30 year old HB flankers want 450K a season to try and get some exciting new additions maybe look at Voss and co to see how players really play for a club Campo.

Anyway Campo you have at last made a sacrifice for the team and club CFC will save 400 - 450K on your salary give a more deserving and young team player a oppertunity to play senior footy so you have done something good for CFC ... good riddence may you infect the Bombers like you did the blues .......
Most players you wish well wether they leave or get traded or move on ... But Campo you have to be prob the most selfish player to ever put on the CFC Jumper on

Campo leaving the club in similar circumstances as Judas back in 2000.

Didn't want you there next year, but you've bitten the hand that feeds you, and as far as your comments are concerned, WEAK and CHEAP.

Walk away with nothing, but praise about the club - that's too difficult.

@#$%&! off Campo, you LOSER.
