Terry Daniher has been appointed as our new assistant coach, to help with our key position backs and forwards. Apparently Mike Sheahan has the story in today's Herald Sun - print version as the story isn't online. |

Hmmm - interesting. He's been given the arse from his last two jobs, that's a worry. His bosses however were Mick Malthouse and Grant Thomas. Welcome TD! |

I have been asking a few people in the 'know' about why TD has been given the flick from those clubs. The general concensus seems to be that he is an easy 'scapegoat' for a clubs ills. It has been easy for those clubs to say to its members..."look we have made changes' TD is not the sort of bloke to kick up a fuss about being sacked or air any dirty laundry on a past club so it is easy to give him his yellow slip. A sugestion has been made that he more into the 'hands on approach' out on the track rather than the world of computer aided coaching. The young kids at CFC really do need that personal, hands on approach so I think TD could be the perfect fit for us at this time. All the best TD. Regards Cazzesman |

I like TD, reckon he will good. Never forget him winning a man of the match award during the old escort cup, and upon being presented with the prize of a shiny new VCR he said something like, 'Thanks, not sure if I'll be able to work it though with all these buttons and stuff'. If nothing else the windows around Princes Park will be spotless. ![]() Thanks for the info 79V! |

I think he has proven to be at the right place at the right time... Both when clubs are winning and also when they lose. Nothing wrong with this appointment IMO. If he can help our list and then ultimately be used as a scapegoat when we are once again at the top i can live with that. ![]() ![]() But in all seriousness. i think this is a positive appointment. ![]() ![]() |

The Herald Sun has also reported that Gary Dempsey will be part time ruck coach. My own personal preference would be to get good people just fresh out of the game. Oh well, good luck to you both. I hope you have an impact. |

TD was a fair talent with plenty of mongrel in him….we could do a lot worse….I mean to say…we do play the game like gentlemen. And .... Gary Dempsey was a great ruckman who read the game like no other…he made the opposition players look as if they thought he was on their side….they just kept kicking the ball to him….fair tap ruckman as well!! |

Why don't we go back to the eighties and start drinking at the Notting Hill hotel on a Thurs night and then down into the social club rooms to get pissed with the supporters after the game as well?? The guy has been sacked at three clubs now. Why??? Obviously he is offering nothing constuctive. If he was making a MEANINGFUL contribution, do you think they would give him the flick?? Nice bloke. Very likeable and no doubt will get along well with everyone. But is that what we need?? We need to start being PROGRESSIVE. Otherwise we will continue to languish where we are on the bottom of the ladder. |

One of his major roles has to be sorting Fev out...both in mind and in body language. Let's just hope Fev remembers him so he has the respect to listen. |

interestingly both his former teams where he was assistant coach played big finals, even though unsuccesfully. What year did he get the axe from Collingwood? |

TD was at collingwood during the 2003 season and was at the Saints for past 2 seasons. |

Daniher and Dempsey are at least a start in the right direction and I dont have a problem with either of them...wouldnt worry about TD being flicked from the other jobs..Nathan Burke left the Saints suddenly and I reckon its Grant Thomas who has the problem..,maybe TD is a tad too popular with the players and some of the coaches dont like it.. |

He did wonders for Tarrant in 2003. I reckon he will be a handy acquisition. He calls it as he sees it - which a few of our blokes really need |

Why are we picking up the scraps again? No one wanted Libba either. We need a youthful and dynamic footy dept, not budget veterans |

From an outsiders perspective we are a very disfunctional team. |

Gary Dempsey is a ruck legend. What he doesnt know about ruck work isnt worth knowing. He is a good get. Terry Daniher is a unusual character. Immensely successful as a country coach. In the AFL, as an assistant, the clubs he has been involved with have flourished. The Bummers golden era of 99-2001 coincided with terrys arrival at the club. The Filth get him for 2003 and their forwards have their best seaon ever. Idiot Rocca gets suspended for the granny. Malthouse puts Cloke at CHF and then sacks Daniher cos they lost. St kilda's forward line has simarily flourished the last 2 years. But the fact remains he was let go by the 3 clubs. Is it is laconic laid back nature or is there something deeper. Lets give a year or two at the Blues before we decide. Personally ithink his no-nonsense philosophy and people skills may help guys like fevola, Whitnall and Waite. Lets see |

great news.I think TD will be a huge asset to the club.He has a great record at his previous 3 clubs.Tactical stuff is something he is not strong on from what journos have said.So what they may be wrong anyway.A great player communicator 300 games of experience welcome aboard |
