http://www.realfooty.theage.com.au/real ... 16291.html Quote: The departure of McKay and Hunter will pave the way for developer Daniel Grollo and National Australia Bank CEO Ahmed Fahour to bring some relatively young blood to the board table.
Both are regarded as presidential material but Collins must now convince them to come aboard. |

Great news to hear that we're possibly getting some new blood in Grollo and Fahour. But I thought Murphy and Hurn would be replacing them? Quote: Carlton will soon announce an annual financial loss of close to $1 million for 2005 Could have been worse given the circumstances since Hawthorn are on track to lose $1.5 million and have a team full of young guns. ![]() Quote: But Pagan pleaded for his assistants and all appear to have survived as has the popular and promising football manager Grant Williams
Is it a surprise Williams has kept his job ![]() |

Quote: Most of his fellow directors understand that Ian Collins will remain at the helm of the club in the short-term but that he, too, is looking for a successor, one he does not believe currently sits alongside him at the board table. Collins believed that leader should have been Mike Fitzpatrick, but the premiership captain now seems headed for bigger chairmanships.
Good to see that Collo is looking at someone from the outside to be his successor. |

Two absoloute legends of the club. Both have worked very hard behind the scenes over many years and in particular the last three to help rescue a club that to all intents and purposes was bankrupt and facing a very bleak future. For mine, it is nice that when you get to meet your childhood idols you discover that they are really nice people to boot. I can not speak highly enough of either person. |

Despite the fact I think we will struggle again on field next year, we are slowly turning things around off the field. First the article during the week about the changes to the social rooms at Optus Oval and now an article on changes on the board. Have no fear people, we are slowly but surely getting there. |

Good blokes. Wernt contributing as much as we need... they were tired and flat and they knew it.. we need fresh blood. There are others in the same boat...at least these two were interested enough in allowing the club to go forward by not trying to claw onto their spots on the board. Fahour and Grollo are unlikely.. however there are a couple of fresh faces touted who would be valuable additions. *Hopefully some more deadwood steps down. |

I,m not concerned about these changes. From what i could see, whilst both were good Carlton people, they probably were not what we needed to take the next step. Good on them though for doing their bit and having the decency to step aside to give someone else a chance. |
