LANCE Whitnall's re-signing with Carlton last week has thrown up this interesting piece of trivia. Should he have an injury-free 2006 (as he did this year when he played all 22 home-and-away games), the 179-gamer will become the 30th 200-game Carlton player, meaning the Blues reinforce their top spot in that ranking, well ahead of Essendon* and Hawthorn, both of whom boast 24. That's the good news. The not-so-good news is that unless the Blues suddenly have a massive form turnaround, it won't be too long before "Big Red" also will have the unwanted distinction of being the only Blue 200-gamer not to have a premiership medallion. Is this true Footygeek? It's surprising that no 200 game player has ever gone without a flag in his pocket.Carlton supporters have got a lot to complain about. ![]() ![]() Who played the most games without ever winning a flag? John James? For those not interested here's Kevin Pietersen's new girlfriend. ![]() |

Now I know why nobody reads the stats threads! Not enough supermodels. Good tactic there Juzz. ![]() Yep, all 200 gamers for the blues have premierships. http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/alltime/carlton.html Yes, John James with 195 games has the most for Carlton without a premiership. Soapy Vallance had to wait until his 204th and final game to get a premiership. Lets hope if Whitnall does get to 200 games that Carlton's perfect record is not broken before he retires/traded/delisted. ![]() If you have a look at the list of 200 game players across the VFL/AFL there are quite a few without a premiership. http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/alltime/highs.html |
